In past, making sex used to result in children. When u marry to someone u take responsibility of eachother and the children in front of other people. But before marriage it is not mandatory, often it happens that the father refuses the responsibility of the children. So to secure female and the children it was thought as a bad thing tohave sex before marriage. Well ...... its my thinking.

I think all religions prohibit sex before/outside marriage. if there is a religion which encourages or sanctifies sex outside marriage, i would like to know. The attitudes towards sex in Hinduism are given below:
Hindus will generally discourage sex before marriage. This is because sex should be limited to the householder stage of life (called an ashrama), as this is where couples should have and bring up their children (for more details on this see Hinduism and Marriage). Thus sex and children form part of the duty (dharma) of this aspect of Hindu life. This means that adultery is also wrong because this would be going against the purpose of marriage and would betray one's partner (and would also affect one's karma and attempts to attain moksha). In many respects the place of sex for Hindus is idealised by the gods. Unlike the Christian God (who has no partner), Hindu gods get married and have children. The gods also demonstrate what an ideal relationship with one's husband/wife should be. For example, the gods Shiva and Parvarti are often held up as the ideal couple. Women will often pray for a husband like Shiva and follow Parvarti's patient example in waiting for one to come along (It is said that Parvarti waited sixteen years until she met Shiva).
The material world is not about enjoyment. According to Patanjali's Yoga-sutra (2.15), the wise understand that sense pleasure begets suffering either as a direct consequence (parinama), in the form of anticipation (tapa) of its inevitable loss, or in the form of new craving (samskara) for sense pleasure that arises from impressions of it embedded in the mind. Thus sense pleasure is mixed with suffering in all three phases of time.
Real joy comes from the culture of selfless action, in which one acts for the satisfaction of God and not one's material senses. Everyone acknowledges that sex life must be restricted in some manner. This sense arises in human life. Marriage is an important part of the culture of selfless action, and sexual indulgence should be confined within marital commitment for those interested in religious and spiritual life, in which real joy can be found.
The bodily needs must be tamed for the mind to rise above material pleasures and to experience spiritual enlightenment. Sex energy is a strong energy in men and women and it needs to be regulated by marriage. Indiscriminate indulgence in sex outside marriage causes a human being to remain engulfed in bodily pleasures which hinder his/her spiritual growth.
We can see the agony expressed by so many people in questions relating to cheating in marriage. If that is the result of extra-marital sex then why should we indulge in it? We should give our spouse the same security and commitment which we expect from them. Children need the emotional security and affection of both parents. Does that sound logical?
