It's "gandalla."
It's essentially a "Mexican-ism" meaning a low-life, crook, etc. The word has spread to other parts of Central America but last I heard hadn't yet made it to the Caribbean or Spain.
If I had to make a guess, I'd say it's a vulgarization of the word "canalla," which in general means a cad, bounder, meanie, nasty, etc.

"Gandalla" is a basically a person who takes advantage of other people, not exactly a con man, but just a selfish person who takes advantage of others. I've not seen it with an o at the end.

gandalla...no "gandallo" ...
this word describe one guy so rude, vulgar, and uneducated, but the word -gandalla- by self its a vulgar slang.
