I am a Christian, and I have friends who are atheist/agnostic.
I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).
For scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm
Cordially,
John

Because "Christians" as a group are no different than any other large group of people; most of them are nice, normal, resaonable people, but then there are also some who are intolerant, bigoted and mean, and even some cheats, adulterers, crooks and murderers!
"Christians" as a group believe some pretty strange things, but that doesn't make them bad people. You should find some different ones if you really want some Christian friends.

I am a Christian and my best friend is an atheist. We get along well as long as we leave the subject of religion alone. Why? Do you need a friend?

Fear. I've found that to be the case with all scenarios like that. People fear what they do not know. I'm glad you included the word "some" because it's not all. I know some atheists who can act the same way unfortunately.

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
Because God said we are not to mix with unbelievers and socialize around them. It's like taking a clean clear glass of fresh water that is pure, and slowly pouring vinagar into it. Eventually the water will no longer be good, because the vinagar contaminated the clean water. That same thing can happen if a Christian hangs around a non believer. They can become contaminated, and God says no to that mix.

I've got plenty of good Christian friends. It's ONLINE Christians that are the biggest butt-heads.

some Christians set bad examples...
just like "some" of EVERY group...
I'd be your friend, I don't need others to validate my beliefs.

I guess that this close to judgment day, they don't want to be found guilty by association. Something to think about. I promise you-they know something that you don't.
