Hi folks,

I recently got Bitdefender 9 from a torrent site. I installed it, and it supposedly found 7 viruses. It said that it needed to restart the computer to clean all of the viruses off, so I did what it told me to do.

I try to reboot the computer, and all of the startup programs begin to launch, but no bitdefender. Next thing I know, the computer automatically restarts itself! I get into windows again, and it restarts itself about 3 minutes into the startup! So I figure there's some probelm dur to Bitdefender, right? Well I can't uninstall from the start menu becuase it says it's not officially installed yet, and I can't uninstall from the add/remove programes section becuase the computer restarts before I can uninstall it. I even tried to make no starup programs activate on the next restart, but it STILL RESTARTS. HELP! I need to fix this!

The BSOD reads:
STOP: 0X000000D1 (0X00000008, 0X00000002, 0x00000000, 0xAACA5823)

OKay...

I thought I stopped the service through safe mode, but the problem is I think that the program itself isn't finished installing itself. IT installed, ran a prelim virus check, and then said it had to restart to clean it. ANd then is when it started restarting itself automatically. I can't untinstall from safemode either becuase it keeps telling me it isn't installed to begin with. It's a terrible catch 22.

2) Telling me that the site I downloaded it from is what messed it up is NOT HELPFUL.

Please be aware, unless you can pose a helpful solution to fix the computer, don't post at all. I'm not here to help your point count, I'm here to get computer help.

In safe mode delete BDFTDIF.sys. If it won't let you, then rename it BDFTDIF.sys.bak. Reboot and try installing again.
