Unless it is flavored, for example: yellow rice, I find that it pretty much tastes the same. I know sophisticated palates would say something like "One is nuttier than the other." But all the same to me. I find that the usefulness of different rices is based on shape, size, etc. Kind of like you have stated that you like jasmine rice for fried rice.

out of all the rice i tried i also like the jasmine rice the very best.

A good Brown rice is nuttier tasting than bleached white, I also like Glutenous rice cause you can handle it with chopsticks, it's supposed to be sticky
Then of course, spanish rice made with tex-mati rice, not the Minute kind.
And to top all off rice pudding.
