4) Is it because you found your self feeling the most familiar feeling of being ALONE and found out the best solution is to find friendship in god (either real or not).?

Iam a man of science,

i donot believe in spontaneous generation (conjured from thin air, supernatural). i believe in FACTS, either "abiogenesis" (evolution from pre existing abiotic, inorganic substances and/or cosmic origin {spores/ meteores/ comet tail fragments containing water as ice })

I DONOT believe that god exists. but i have a 0.0001% belief bcoz my parents INCORPORATED that god exsits into my head.

INDIAN ELEPHANT GOD IS ACTUALLY A SON OF A HINDU GOD (SHIVA THE DESTROYER), BORN PERFECTLY NORMAL, BUT HEAD WAS SEVERED BUY HIS OWN FATHER AND SHIVA HAD TO FIND ANOTHER HEAD FOR HIM AND IT WAS A BABY ELEPHANTS HEAD, THATS THE MAJOR REASON PEOPLE SAY ELEPHANTS ARE HOLY, AND ITS ALSO THE MAJOR REASON "THE HINDU" HAS THE MOST HUMAN ERRRORS, WE MADE IT ALL UP!!!!

I STILL CANT AGREE, not just me, all the SANE people, but religion can help alot eventhough its fake, feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, people come together to help each other, thats great! & thats what we want, isnt it? pease & serenity untill the moment we die believing to open again, but we wont even realise our belief was wrong, we are "out like a candle" - no more - nothing- we run into nothingness-

sad, how many people have died the same death....

do what you can to help each other, because the " Book Of Psycology and Evolution " says COMPASION is NOT a human thing, but a PART of our GENETIC code, we evolved compasion like wolves, we needed to live in society for a better chance at the evolutionary race!

a sugestion to all; watch the discovery channel.,

and some hate mails that i recieved, iam a good person, i donot go around claiming god is fake, i am impressed by the fact that human beings have saved ourselves by creating god and religion, & maybe the best way

Whoa, I thought I was the only one who thought religion is a waste of time until I read this. That's great.

Whenever I say something like God doesn't exist, people say stuff like, "Well you have no right to say that!", or "And how do you know God DOESN'T exist".

Science > Religion

And I don't care if people say God's just a "concept", there's still no evidence that this "concept" is true.

And then, religion can just completely mess up people. Like if you say that the "Indian Elephant God doesn't exist" or whatever, to those who believe in that, and they'd try to assassinate you. Or you say "God doesn't exist" to a Christian neighbour. That neighbour would probably avoid you for the rest of his/her life or something.

I absolutely do not believe in God, because there's absolutely no evidence.

If this "God" is such a wonderful person, why doesn't "He" (capitalizing the H so I don't get any murderous Christians or Catholics or whatever stalking me, though that's unlikely, but still) ever speak to me or something? Why doesn't he have any ways to prove that he exists? I tried "praying" that my couch moves 8 inches to the right so "God" can prove that he exists and that I will worship him or whatever, but nooo, it seems "He" does not exist.

And then there's this whole "breathing" thing. The reason we're breathing is very simple! We intake oxygen so that our blood will be able to function properly, not because of some magic phenomenon.

Now I'm sorry if my answer offended anyone, but I just thought I'd like to express my views on this whole religion thing.

Well for me it was the way life was from the time i was a youngster...4-5 yrs old...
And i left it for a long time presuming that something was wrong because the ridiculous issue of creation vs. evolution, and the geologic time scale issues, and the metaphysical aspects....MY dissillussionment was complete....then the eighties came and people started the wierdness with crystals and channeling, and wicca became a religion..etc... and aids ate some of my closest friend alive...the church seemed more stable than the real world...not because the issues were explained away, but because, for the most part the people in the church cared for one another and watched out for one another, for those who were less fortunate than themselves....there is a constancy about the shared affection and respect the men give one another...when my wife left me they didn't scorn her or cast her out like a whore, or gossip about her,... they took me aside and asked how they could help, and ask pointed questions about my behavior of the past and whether it had anything to do with the break up...it came down to they're being more concerned for the children and our family as awhole than my emotional well being......
those in the small church I worship in now don't share my view of the evolutionary processes , nor do they understand how I've worked out the geologic time scale problem....they still think that we were created some 10 to 12 thousand years ago...but thats ok...not everyone has to agree about how we all happened be here....
we just need to agree that together we believe and want to share that together....
Belief is all about choice...what choices have you made that you would change..??

I just answered this question the other day. And basically I said," how could you look at your new born child and say there is not a God?
How could you look at a new days dawn and say there is not a God?
How could you pray to get out of a bad situation and now your not in that situation anymore and say there is not a God?
How could you be brushed by death and didn't die and say there is not a God?
How could you read the Bible and see that prophecy is being filled and say there is not a God?

I could go on and on but I think you get the point.

I don't understand why ppl can't see that there IS a God!

Firstly...i am an Atheist. that answers your question. BUT i read something that was false, and since you are a man of FACTS i thought perhaps you'd like some.

Taimur said that Albert Einstein was a believer in a "god" like creature. Let me correct this FALSE claim by quoting the man in question.

"I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religion than it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it."~Albert Einstein, German-born American physicist.

Now I'm sorry to rain on any ones "god believers parade" but....that is about as crystal clear as it gets!

Many believers make claims like this to "back up" the validity of their made-up deity. They have also claimed that some Atheists/Agnostics have on their death beds confessed their sins and accepted god, Allah, Christ, Buddha..what have you. Anything to make their dreams *and fairy tales* seem true, all powerful, conquering!! Blah blah blah.

Many people have no idea what an Atheist, or an Agnostic are...and if they "kinda" know..they assume the worst. I have a video on one of my past blogs about Atheists. That may just shed a better picture of we Atheists. At any rate.....it would educate people.

It's enough to make rational thinkers scream. And i wonder....what
Einstein would say if he knew how people were using him in this way, even though he made himself VERY clear in life, how he felt about "after-life".

*PEACE*

Dearest reader,
Have you heard the scripture, "The heavens declare the glory of God?" Every person has a sense that there is something bigger...because of nature! I was just in the Rocky mountains, and it's so obvious this didn't just happen by chance one day. Even if a person is in a jungle and never heard the gospel of Christ, they have a sense that there is a bigger entity, a creator, if you will.
We come to God by faith like a child, that's why science and intellectualism make the decision hard. I also was an "intellectual Christian," that knew all the stories, but that did not fill the God vacuum, hole in the heart that everyone has and tries to fill it with ....you name it. I tried for 22 years, prayed to God but felt alone.
It was only when prayed to Jesus that I was no longer alone in the midst of my mother dying and the violent alcoholism of my father, the rejection of a fiancee and friends two hundred miles away.
God is real because His son changed me into a new creation; my desire for children, instead of belief in abortion,, ect. He also provided the man that I have been married to for 24 years that fall in church...and three children that have been the world to me!
Please read First John, and ask God to help you understand the words with the help of his spirit.
Thank you for asking, and letting me share. You can't argue with a changed life!
God Bless on your journey...please take time to read that chapter, your eternity depends upon it. You have a heavenly Father that is just waiting for you and myself and parents that would love for you to return "home" spiritually. Perhaps they have not been the best Christian example. We can't look to man...look to the words and teachings of Jesus Christ. There are answers there.

Here's a question for you: Why Don't you believe in god? I'm sorry, but for me, there is no other way of thinking, it is the only explanation. When you look at something so small, yet so complex as a seed. The way it grows, sheds it's leaves as a tree, turns colors, everything. What other answer is there but God. Simply, god. When you hear these amazing, moving stories on the news, it is not just coincedence. Everything is planned. He has a perfect plan for everyone, even you. There is enough evidence out there for me, such as the Bible. Sorry, we may be different, but that is my one and only way of thinking. Tip: Rent the Passion of Christ.

I believe in God because His Spirit lives in me, because I have a personal relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ, and I talk to Him everyday. His presence in my life is real, undeniable and yes, comforting. He answers my prayers in so many ways, guides my actions, and inspires me to spread His Good News.

Look around you and investigate to your hearts content, there are so many things in nature and science that can't be explained by science. Tell me how the rose evolved, the scent became distinguishable. Tell me how our solar system evolved into the perfect atmosphere to support our individual life form, and thousands of other systems can't. How is it the perfect balance of ingredients is out there in our air, that sustain our bodies to maximum performance. Is it all an accident that we can coexist with all these other species, that we dominate on a planet with so many other life forms, and again I ask, why didn't all apes evolve, if that is your premise for the beginning of man?

Most of all, I believe, because I asked the question, are you real God? Show yourself real to me, be a presence in my heart and life, forgive me of my sins, and help me to know you. By the way, I thank God for your parents, and their love for you, that they would incorporate God into your life, He is your hope, and He loves you. Blessings.

#1 step is faith

sure its hard to believe in something you can't see or touch but look around
take 1 thing and look at it in depth and think about how incredible and complex it is like the human eye then step back and look at every thing that exists and how complex each one of them are how could there not be a God.

Don't wait to believe on your way to hell. It is this God who has made you to be a man of science and He has the right to do whatever He wants in you. You may be asking me why has He not make you to believe in Him? He does not force people to follow Him, but He make sure that He grants them the opportunity to do so before they chose as you have chosen.
As for me as you have asked,I believe in God because without that I will go to hell. I have not just believe in Him, I have given Him my life. He is the savior and Lord of my life.
