John 9:31 : Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any be a worshiper of God, and doeth His will, him He heareth."

This verse tells me that I need to come to God in a spirit of repentance. If I see anything in me that is not pleasing to God I need to repent as I enter into His presence. I need to bow low before Him in my spirit and ask those things that are according to His will and then I know that He will hear and answer me.
example: God I want to love you more. God I want to know you more. God I need your help I can't seem to give up this sin, show me how to do it. Show me the things that are good and pure and lovely and of a good report. Show me what to do in this situation I am in, guide me by Your Spirit, because it is in Jesus name I pray.

Remember this was before Christ's atoning sacrifice. Mankind had not yet obtained the grace of forgiveness or the right to approach God through baptism.

One who has been baptized has the right to petition God for all his needs.

Whether any type of sin could destroy that relationship is a matter for debate.

St. John speaks elsewhere of "sins to death" that may act to separate one from God.

The Catholic sacrament of reconciliation addresses this issue by using the priest as the intermediate instrument of God's forgiveness.

Because it's like clearing the phone to get a dial tone before talking to God. Even if you are saved, God can't listen to you or work in your life until you confess your sins. A Holy God cannot be in the presence of sin.

In order to have your sins forgiven, you must talk to God. You have to tell Him that you are sorry for whatever you have done wrong. If you are a faithful Christian, then God will forgive you as soon as you ask Him to.

It is talking about those that do not repent and ask for forgiveness. How can you get your sins forgiven if you do not talk to God? It is only God that can forgive your sins.

oh, then i am so sorry for christians,

I did not read this verse before, the concept of God in christianity is so unloving.

how come christian friends claim that God is love.

If he needs a blood to forgive sins, then this makes God to appear very cruel. God cannot be cruel. This concept does not look good for God. Sure the son appears very loving, he loves the people, he wants to die for them (if you say that he is willing), but what about God himself? Don't you think God should be more loving than Jesus.

The bloody death of Jesus smelled good to God. Ephesians 5:2

i read this cruel verse before, but thanks for john 9:31

If Jesus paid for the sins, then where is the forgiveness of God. When you forgive somebody, it means you don't get paid. That's what forgiveness means. If a man owes my money, I just simply say "Forget it" if I want to forgive that money. Now I cannot say, give me my money now, after I have forgiven. Similarly, if a person owes my money, and later he paid my money back. Now after i put my money in my pocket, I cannot say "I forgive you". Its a joke of forgiveness.

But ask forgiveness of your Lord and turn unto Him (in repentance): for my Lord is indeed Full of mercy and loving-kindness." (Quran 11:90)

and i invite you to this loving and caring God,

see how God invites us with love

O man! What has seduced thee from thy Lord Most Beneficent?- Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together." (QURAN 82:6-8)

My understanding is that the first prayer that God hears once you reach the age of accountability is the Sinners Prayer, where you ask Him to forgive you of your sins and rule your life. Others will differ and I am sure they will.

There are no gods to talk to. It doesn't matter what an old book says. If you are think you are talking to a god, you are just talking to yourself.

Sin is also an outdated concept. Any fixed list of rules is insufficient to apply to every situation. Instead of worrying about if you are following some list, try thinking for yourself.

As a Christian it is necessary to "wash up" spiritually before going to God. You wouldn't go before a king or the president in filthly rags.

The prayer that God hears from people who are unsaved is the one asking for salvation. After that you become his child, and he hears and answers every prayer.
