Jesus made a number of very clear statements about money and wealth in the Bible. For example:

Matthew 6:19

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 6:24
No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Money.

The message is clear. If you want to follow Jesus, you need to "sell your possessions and give to the poor." It is a very simple message, and easy to do. Have you done it? Chances are you own a computer, pay for an Internet connection every month, live in a home or apartment, have a car, etc.

In other words, you live a life at a level of wealth unimaginable in Jesus' time. Meanwhile, billions of people on the planet live in startling, abject poverty.
Why don't you sell everything and follow Jesus, as he requests in the Bible? The reason is simple: Jesus and God are imaginary, and you know it. If Jesus were real, you would do what he says.

Why should they do that? It is so much easier to talk the talk than to really walk the walk. That has always been one of my main problems with xtians....they have a convenient belief system that has absolutely nothing to do with their lifestyle.

And for "Boss Brat"....Jesus did call people to live in the streets. Luke 9: 57 and 58 state....

57And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

58And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

Matthew 19:21
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

So YES xtians are called by jesus to a life of poverty and not following that means you will be left behind!!!!! And I don't want to hear any crap about context....it is as plain as it gets. There are countless verses in the bible that say you must deny wealth.

That is taking the Bible out of context. The Bible never condems being rich. Granted we need to take care of the needy, but the Bible never condemns basic needs or even affluence. It only condemns the greed of money. Not money, but the love or obsession with money.

Please don't quote from the Bible like Satan quoting from the Bible!

And you have the same things, seeing that you are posting on this site, which takes electricity, a computer and internet service. Jesus did not intend for people to live on the streets. He intended for us to help those in need, which my family does often. We are helping a family right now, for that matter and finding out how to start a non-profit organization in our area to help those who need it most because there are no shelters, food banks, etc.

If your so against religion and feels like it is a waste of time, your just as bad, trying to prove your points. You must be somewhat curious of the deepest mysteries. Or is this a way to make you feel better, by making someone else look bad or ignorant.

I didn't read what you said, but I know it's right because you're in a suit.

EDIT: LOL @ the Christians who accuse the asker of hypocrisy! Don't you morons get it? You are under the obligation to do what Jesus says--HE ISN'T. Do yourself a favor and grow another brain cell. It will double the intelligence that you currently have.

"yes he did say that and we must follow his guide but just giving to the poor is not enough we must give ourselfs to Christ"

LOL cop-out! So your excuse is, "I can help people without giving them money, so I don't have to give them money!" XD you're a moron.

Bull crap. Go read your Bible. Matthew 25:

14) For [the kingdom of heaven is] as a man travelling into a far country, [who] called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
15) And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
16) Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made [them] other five talents.
17) And likewise he that [had received] two, he also gained other two.
18) But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.
19) After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
20) And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
21) His lord said unto him, Well done, [thou] good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
22) He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
23) His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
24) Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25) And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, [there] thou hast [that is] thine.
26) His lord answered and said unto him, [Thou] wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27) Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and [then] at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
28) Take therefore the talent from him, and give [it] unto him which hath ten talents.
29) For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
30) And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

HOW ARE YOU USING WHAT GOD HAS GIVEN YOU? Are you being a good steward by spending your money on a computer, and using your time to refute me on the internet? NO. You failed. You should sell your computer and spend all your time like Jesus did--helping prostitutes and tax collectors.

PWNT.

Or maybe it's to help the blind such as yourself find their way out of darkness and into the light.
