I've been saying there is no sanctuary and that hiding illegals is illegal, and here is an article saying earlier people involved with churches in 'the sanctuary movement' [there is a 'sanctuary movement?'] were arrested for it previously.

"Some churches across the country are quietly giving sanctuary to illegal immigrants trying to keep their families from being torn apart by deportation, said Fife, leader of the Sanctuary movement, which sheltered thousands of Central American civil war refugees in American churches and synagogues more than 20 years ago.
None of the churches are in Tucson, he said.
In 1986, Fife and seven others in the Sanctuary movement were convicted on federal charges of transporting and concealing illegal entrants. He received five years' probation. "

What do you think?

kobacker - they just don't ask about it except on certain conditions. However, LA's Special Order 40 is right now being challenged in court.

I'll say it again. The Church is supposed to be a place where people can go to acknowledge, confess, repent, and turn away from their sins, not a place to hide from them.

He should have gotten a 5 year prison sentence, not probation. The United States gives sanctuary to people that are in fear for their lives or religious persecution, but not churches, unless you live in Europe, but I don't no if they still do that. I think they will arrest her sooner or later.

The church is wrong and the women is wrong. And I believe the Church will find out that they did more harm than good. When a Church loses its credibility for follow the true word that they are suppose to teach -they usually go downhill from there.

Very good answer Zoe.

Did you know that there are large cities in this nation that provide sanctuary for immigrants too. Thank goodness for churches and progressive cities that stand up for humans.

They can't stay there forever, and they will make ICE more determined as not to let this become the norm. She'll be deported.
