Why can everyone become a so called 'pastor'? Why do you have to pay lots of money to enter a church? , Some ministers are filthy rich because of this , and the biggest hypocrites, ever.

Did Jesus charge money for his teachings?

Short answer: I agree with you. Many so called "pastors" or "ministers" are money grubbing hypocrites. But there are also those who are sincere in their faith (like the ones at my church.)

If the deacons decided to stop paying the pastors in my church, or to decrease their salary, they would get another job, work 70 hour weeks, and continue to preach.

Long answer: There are different denominations in the Christian church. In many denominations you have to go to seminary to become an ordained minister or pastor. Not just anyone can.

Christians are varied- very varied. There are legitimate, honest ones and there are greedy lying ones that really haven't heard the Gospel or don’t understand it, or are mixed up, or just plain don't care.

If someone you know all of a sudden buys a building, starts calling himself Reverend "X", and tries to start a church in which those who visit are required to pay. It is very unlikely that he is a sincere Christian.

And one more thing, sincere Christians don't mind giving some of their money to the church. We are glad to. Others that want to hear a sermon but are not Christians or members of the church are not (in many churches, including mine) required to give anything at all.

NO, Jesus NEVER charged money for his hearing his teachings. I am a Jehovah's Witness and our religion follows what the bible teaches. We never pass a plate or ask for money. If you WANT to make a contribution toward the kingdom hall or toward making the literature, then there is a contribution box at the front, but we never ask for money. We teach the word of God to learn about just that... The word of God.

The best pastors I've ever known never went to seminary and aren't rich or didn't get rich being a pastor. Try smaller churches.

Thats a rare but ugle occurence. Those that behave in this manner are an eyesore and their hypocrisy is self evident.
But a blame all for the actions of a few is the wrong path as well.
Where ever the truth is lies will try to obscure it.

That is why I am Catholic...I do not perscribe to the notion that just because you have money you can have your own church.
