So you atheists and evolutionists believe we all evolved from animals right? Well at what point did we go from spiritless animals to humans with souls? I don't know about you, but I've never seen an animal grow his own soul before.

Sorry to disobey the request for atheists only but I had to interject...
Religion is the faction of self righteous men putting their agendas up to a god they don't know or care about. This argument between church and science isn't about depravity or the scientific method... Science, spirituality and religion go hand in hand more than most people want to admit... It's about not getting left behind in the debate and this answer is truly non-partisan and unbiased

STOP FIGHTING!! OR IF YOU CAN'T STOP PRETENDING IT'S ABOUT GOD!!!

A serious attempt at answering your question. I think a spirit or soul is the uniqueness of a being, the life, personality etc. Animals have it too, they love, and feel sorrow/mourn loss. I have seen it many times with my own eyes. Of course I have been more sad at the death of the people I have loved, but I experience the same feeling to a lesser degree when an animal friend dies. That unique being is gone and what is left is a body.
I am sad that you do not see that animals can suffer and feel love. Why do you think they do scientific experiments on monkeys to see how the experience attachment etc. if they have no relation to how the human species experience these things as well?

This is a joke right?
You do know that we ARE animals, don't you? We are mammals, scientifically speaking.
Where is your proof of a "soul", where does it exist in the human body?
If finding out for the first time that we are animals just as any other animal on earth is, leads you to conclude that either we all have "souls" or we all don't, so be it. But the fact remains that we are all animals.
Do you eat? Do you breath? Need water? Reproduce? Defecate?
I think someone needs to close their bible and open up a basic biology text...... Pay attention in school honey, it will get you much farther in life than staying inside your ignorant church bubble.

One I cannot answer your quetion . a becuse I have no way whatsoever at measuring . or even dectting a soul what ever it may be .
the porblem is that you are maling a impossible argument . as it is not possible ot porve a neagive . . you have the burden of proof . of souils what everr they might be .
second Howdo we obsrve any thing growing a "soul"
. Perha-psyou mght wish to wact as a animal wirths in pain and agony when cuaght in a trap talk about cruel sick .
Incase youarewonder animals do infactfeel pain and express some basic for of emtion such as fear , hppieness and even sadness . . Not the full rang of huamn emtions or expresions of them but indeed they do .
and what is your question or is it a rather por attempt at trying to "prove" Creationsism
or "intellgent design "

Uh... most "evolutionists" would say "when God decided that the species was suitable to recieve a soul" or something of that nature. And those of us who are also atheists would generally take the position that humans do not have souls. So your question really is like asking "If there's no God, then how are we supposed to get to heaven?" and the like - it simply makes no sense in the context of atheism.

Nobody has seen a human "grow his own soul before". There are no spirits and there are no souls. We are all spiritless and soulless. There is nothing to explain.

Christians have a totally whacky idea of that the 'soul' is supposed to be. For the Jews of that time... including Jesus... the 'soul' was an enveloping emanation from the godhead that resulted from the community's relationship with god. The soul as a component of a human being (Christian view) is an artifact of Greek thinking on 'dualism'... which was incorporated into Christian dogma and lore by Gentile theologians, who were ignorant of Jewish (and Jesus') concept of 'soul'.

So... apart from the fact that all of this stuff is mythological, anyway... everyone's worries about what happens to their personal 'soul' are of no consequence... it does not exist.

Since atheists generally don't believe in souls, this is kind of a pointless question.

Never seen an animal grow a soul? Have you seen your own? Anybody's?

That rascal God. What a jokester. He just put all those neanderthal and dinosaur bones all over to fool us right?
I'm not an atheist, but the old testament is a bunch of fairy tales.
As for animals not having souls.....There are many animals I'd prefer to see in heaven over many people.

We are still animals, not much seperates us from animals.

And I know for a fact you have never seen anyone grow a soul.

first off all humans are animals no matter what you think. the definition of animal is : A multicellular organism of the kingdom Animalia, differing from plants in certain typical characteristics such as capacity for locomotion, nonphotosynthetic metabolism, pronounced response to stimuli, restricted growth, and fixed bodily structure. and plus where is your proof that a soul exists?
