Many people have suggested suing the salon. How does that work? Is it worth it? What I did do is file a complaint with the consumer protection dept at the NC attorney generals office. I have asked for $2500 in damages. I can't even wear my new extentions because my hair doesnt match. I am a mother of three, cant keep dishing out all this money on hair product! although my ends are discusting, the rest of my hair is pretty dry too....I can't believe this. I look rediculous! She cut my hair into a 80's mullet! my bangs were down to my chin almost and now I have 3 in. bangs...yuck! yuck! yuck!
I did email the owner, asking her for advice. I am not going in that place again. All she had to say to the stylist that did my hair was " it had to happen to you sooner or later, every stylist does it atleast once." What is that????? They are suppose to avoid burning someone's hair and damaging it for a years worth of work to get it back to a normal state.

oh lord...

If you were to sue a salon, do it in small claims court. You could sue for your state maximum. Your court costs are reduced and you don't have to give 30-40% to an attorney. Now if the salon has offered you compensation, you may not get much. It is not worth the hassle of going to an attorney unless they are going to do the work pro-bono, Even then, the court cost is 5 times greater.

In small claims court you can get the maximum amount (5,000) for someone ruining your hair. I had a similar thing happen to me,all my long hair was ruined. I now have to walk around with hair I totally loath,it will take ages to even look like something that I like.So I totally know how you feel. I don't think this is petty either. I did not sue only because I didn't want to have to do all the court BS,it's hard enough dealing with whats on my head, plus the money won't glue my beloved hair back on my head. Just remember hair does grow back. I'm totally feeling you. Good luck

If you sue a salon, your bad hair pictures will be entered as evidence and thus become part of the public record.

They may then be freely accessed and published, and likely will be.

C'mon ma'am, it happens. If you can't afford to get your hair styled or do something to fix it - then don't get it styled. People put too much emphasis on that kind of crap.

Don't try and sue then - that's petty.

Well most people only sue for the money . If a salon really *****ed up my hair , damn right I would sue them . They are supposed to be professionals.

I guess what you could get out of suing the salon would be money. If that is what you are looking for or if that would help you be satisfied, go for it.

find out if the salon has and/or the stylist has insurance, if they do-sue, if they don't.......oh well, it will cost more to sue than you can collect back.
