Of course he just likes it, many men are what is known as *** men and therefore they love touching ***, slapping it, starring at it and if he likes yours, great! Now if you fear that he wants to try anal please have a better communication with him and ask him about it. B/c its obviously something you don't want to try and so let it be known, asking him if he wants to try that with you is a great manner of finding out but I totally understand what you mean by not wanting to know his pass anal experiences with other women. Why are you asking us? Ask HIM! It's very possible that he likes your bootie very much, physical attraction is usually very important in a romantic relationship, and it is difficult to pass up the opportunity to fondle a good set of buns.
And it is quite likely that he wants to perform anal sex upon your person. You should let him, and then tell us all about it. Include pictures. A movie file would be better.

Ask him. You came right out and ask him. Some guys just like *** and are not interested in anal. If it is anal he wants and you don't want to do it, don't get coaxed into doing something you don't want to just to make him happy. But to fulfil your curiosity then ask him.

Every man touches his girl friend bottom. He wants to have sex. But I think anal sex is not good. In case he really wanted to do it. Make sure he wears his condom with good lubricants.
