Why do atheist spend to much time trying to discredit the existence of God? If something doesn't exist why worry? That's like me starting a Anti- santa claus group and we visit the north pole and wait near chimney on christmas eve. Is it because subconsciously there is a feeling or void in the back of your head that keeps you wondering, what makes the sun set or the wind blow? Or why are humans design so complicated? Why does the universe have certain law...i.e gravity. ... The majority of the world agree that there is an intelligent designer out there, they just come to conflict on who it is.Please no harsh responses it's just a question.

See what I mean? I go for ten minutes, and already I ruffled some feathers. Dont' get upset my brothers and sisters it's just for insight. Some people get so angry!! Do you think I would get upset if you ask me why I don't believe in Santa claus because a lot of people celebrate him on christmas versus the real reason. If you have to be rude please don't bother answering!! God Bless!!

Because they have no basic set of beliefs except saying 'there is no God' which is an absolute statement with no facts to back it up. And also they don't want to be accountable to a Creator God!

Thomas Nagel in his 1997 book The Last Word. "...I want atheism to be true and am made uneasy by the fact that some of the most intelligent and well-informed people I know are religious believers. It isn't just that I don't believe in God and naturally, hope there is no God! I don't want there to be a God; I don't want the universe to be like that."

It's for the same reason Christians codemn atheist's Republicans shun global warming and and pre-teens make it a point to ruin the surprise for kids by constantly informing them that there is no Santa Claus: It's human nature be in conflict, of course there are probably a few shaky believers who would be rather viewed as atheists than say they're unsure of what to make of it but that's another story...

Because religious zealots spend a great deal of time trying to get their religious beleifs validated in law...like trying to rewrite science and history, feeding myths and lies to schoolkids, and openly advocating ignorance as a blessing. Order in the universe is not evidence of a designer: It is merely evidence that the universal laws of physics that science4 has observed and documented are accurate. As for humans being complicated...there are a number of aspects of our biology that are unessecarily complicated or inadaquate. If I had been the designer of the human body, I should have been fired for presenting a disign like the one we're stuck with.

In my opinion it is because they need to "be right". Since a true athiest believes in "nothing" they can't understand why people can believe in something. If they cannot prove the absence of "God" or some other "inteligent designer" then they only have a random collection of coincidences which are increadibly unlikly.
And yes i have talked to a number of Athiests, and not just the ones who think religion is wrong. (Which when you talk to many of these so called "athiests" you find out they hate religions....) I mean people who truely believe that there is nothing other then people and happenstance... they all seem to be rather laid back and don't care what others believe in.

You make a good point. Although I'm sure not all atheists do this, I have to wonder why some atheists feel the need to challenge people who DO believe in God. Just to be fair though, I also see posts from people who believe in God, challenging atheists about their belief.

I think we just all need to be grown up to respect the beliefs of others, especially when those beliefs totally oppose our own.

No different faith is in contact so time you stopped to imagine! Anti atheism is doing a lot damage to Christianity that it really is unquestionably anti Christianity – David Manley It takes truthfully in ordinary words one to make a quarrel. it really is ineffective for the sheep to bypass resolutions in favour of vegetarianism, even as the wolf continues to be of a diverse opinion. - William Ralph Inge. Why so unaware of what motives the backlash hostile to christianity? all the different religions and atheists stay in peace and are in ordinary words attacked through undesirable christians which motives all good christians to melancholy on the wear and tear they do! Up till about 40 years back Christianity became thriving and there became no conflict with others yet in only those few short years the in call for christians are growing illiberal, hate filled, bigoted and persecuting ensuing in a growing backlash hostile to christianity and causing christianity to loose over ten p.c. in decrease than a decade with the loss accelerating! The self destruction of Christianity is underway and the in ordinary words element which could end it really is to desert the poor human thoughts, search for to rediscover the conception of a loving god and act like it!

No reason to discredit a god, since no god has ever been proven to exist. We can sit back and comment on superstitious behavoir.

I ask questions here to try to find out why other people believe and see where they're coming from. I do not believe, but since so many people do, I wonder what they think and believe.

Are you absolutely kidding? Do atheists have televangelists? Do Atheists ride around neighborhoods in white shirts going door to door? Who spends more time? Christians trying to get me to believe in a God that would kill first born babies, or Atheists forming a Jihad against the believers?
