The only negative I can come up with is if your frying. Then you have a greasy mess to clean up.

The only negative is the smell, but that can be remedied by placing a little bowl of vinegar at the back of the stove top. This will minimize the odor from cooking.

the negatives to cooking fish/chicken on a stove is that all the grease will go back into the food so all in all i personally would grill it!

Both will give your home a smell (especially the fish) and you'll have to watch out for grease splash. The splash happens when the heat is high and you place the meat in the pan. You'll also have to find a place for the left over grease when you're done. Both meats are great fried but are just as good when baked.

None, you have greater control of browning, etc... best of both world... start the cooking on the stove... finish up in oven...
