I have checked online and they are charging way too much. I only want my 6 year old grandson to try and read them. And maybe teach my 3 year old grandaughter how to read with them. I checked the card catalog at my local library and they don't have any. I need some suggestions!

I bought some reprinted Dick and Jane books at Kmart. I also saw them at Walmart. They were about $3.00 a book.

Your local library will have lots of books that help children learn to read. If your heart is set on Dick and Jane you might try a local university library especially if they have a teacher training program. The college library I worked at had all sorts of Dick and Jane books and McGuffy(sp?) readers that were available to check out. The teaching students used them as references to early 20th century education! Your local public library can probably borrow them for you for a nominal charge. (Usually just postage.)

Libraries are the best possibility or buying them online like at Amazon.

But Dick and Jane books are not the best teaching materials. They are not effective. The language is too simple, even for beginning readers. Try other beginning reader books.
