your question is confusing me you where advised to drink white but you know everything about white? Have you accidentally typoed? Where you advised to start drinking red instead? But anyway, wine is subjective really, people have different tastes but as always price can be a guider to quality (obviously the really expensive ones you don't touch but also keep away from any really cheap variety). Yet you can find good cheap bottles (sorry cheap, cheap, cheap thats me the money bird). Try Spainsh red wine they are excellent at producing the red wine and anything undrinkable just mix with orange and voila! Sangria.
For White wine try Germany as your first port of call they know there whites over there.
As always taste, taste, taste and pick your own favourites.

I agree with most of the answers above.... I'm surprised someone advised you to do this.

Red wines have much more health benefit because they are a great source of anti-oxidants. Almost every diet and health improvement plan out there will allow you a small glass (4 oz pour) of red wine as often as once a day, although I generally save mine for more like once a week.

The only downside to reds is that traditional reds do tend to be higher in sulfites, and some people are allergic to sulfites. But the wine industry has been very responsive to this for several years now, and as a result there are plenty of good sulfite-free reds available in the markets now. I'm usually a California wine snob, especially re pinots, but lately I have been opting for Chilean reds above all else. Chilean cabs and malbecs are superior products, and the price compared with California or French wines makes them even more of a winning choice.

If you have had any stomach or digestive problems you would be put on a White Wine instead of red. The acid is more harmful in red and can lead to other problems. Also as stated above the link to migraines is prevalent as well.

Chianti classico , It comes in a bottle with a cute straw basket covering part of it, when your done you can use it as a candle holder, Tres chic.
Actually you can get the same benefits from drinking purple grape juice ( havent you heard the Welches commercial yet)

AND eventually ( i know this from ALOT of experience red wine will start to rot your gut ....if you drink a bottle a day)
OKAY you have got to have it backwards no one drinks white wine for health, Its Red.

My husband had a heart attack 2 years ago. The consultant said it was ok to drink 2 glasses of red wine per day.

Rum Cake. It's so delicious, and you can definitely 'feel' it, haha. Here's a recipe: 1 cup chopped, toasted pecans or walnuts 1 18-1/2 ounce yellow cake mix 1 1-3/4 ounce (4-serving size) instant vanilla pudding mix 4 eggs 1/2 cup cold milk 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1/2 cup Bacardi dark rum ---Glaze--- 1/2 cup butter 1/4 cup water 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup Bacardi dark rum Cake: Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour 12-cup Bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts on bottom of pan. Combine all cake ingredients. Beat for 2 minutes on high with electric mixer. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour. Cool in pan. Invert on serving plate. Prick top with fork. Drizzle glaze over top of cake. Use brush or spoon to put extra dripping back on cake. Glaze: Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in water and sugar. Boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in rum. Note: The rum will cause steam. Be careful not to burn yourself. This is really popular. Good luck! :)

Red wines have more sulfites, which have been known to cause more headaches/migraines than the whites.
Personally, reds are my favorites and when drinking them, i follow one glass up with a glass of water to help with the headaches.. usually helps.
BTW, salt (and A LOT) of it takes red wine stains out of carpets!!

Don't know what condition you have that it has been recommended that you drink white wine. There are always varying reports about drinking any kind of wine, in moderation.

Who advised you? Red wine does contain small amounts of beneficial chemicals, but you're better off sticking to sensible amounts of whatever makes you happy. Eat, drink and be merry.
