Man made beer. God made weed. Man also wrote the bible. Who do you trust?

No, I don't smoke weed, but I don't knock anyone who does, either.

Good question!

The controversy surrounding marijuana and the illegal aspect of organized crime could be easily alleviated by either decriminalizing it or legalizing it and taxing it heavily, like tobacco.

Decriminalizing it, would mean that having it or smoking it or growing it is not a crime.

This would virtually eliminate the organized crime factor. However, it probably won't happen. Why? Not because it's a sin or evil (it's not, it is just a plant, how people use it is their business, like tobacco) but because of money.

There are established corporations which would lose money big time if hemp and marijuana were legalized. Hemp can be used to make clothing and paper and many other products which would put many currently established industries, such as pulp and paper for example, in dire financial jeapardy. And since the multi-millionaire corporations control the government, it will never happen.

It has NOTHING to do with sinning, and everything to do with the pockets of the rich!

This is one issue where I'd love to see the zeal of the fundamentalists and their voting lobbies to make the governmnet decriminalize.

So many people in prison for smoking a joint. How does that make America the most free country on earth.

So many lives ruined, not by smoking, by be being arrested, labelled a criminal, be unable to get a good job due to convictions, then turning to crime because that's what the governmnet has dealt you.

If we legalize, we will have less drug money sponsoring terrorism/ mafia/gangs and more tax revenue to support our childrens education/our infrastructure/ and yes even our warmongering presidents oil agenda.

Each and every herb in the annointing oil (Exodus 30:23) is detailed on-line. They include myrrh,Cinnamon, calamus,Cassia and Olive Oil. Look them up. Not ONE of them is the cannabis plant. As a proponent of legalization or decriminalization of marijuana, I spent a few minutes to look up the facts. On this point, the pro pot movement is off base and frankly lieing to you.
However, in Genesis 1:29 it does mention every herb bearing seed...which pot is. Too many seeds sometimes.

"Wine" in the Bible has two meanings--unfermented (grape juice) and fermented ("strong drink"). In the era of Jesus, the sweeter the wine, the better. So unfermented wine would have been preferable to many. Also, fermentation was a symbol of sin, so the "wine" at the last supper would have been unfermented (symbolizing Jesus' pure blood, untainted by sin). The Bible has many references stating that strong wine or drink is NOT good.

There are many herbs referred to in the Bible, and many that were removed through editting. For instance, the gaul used to put Jesus into a semi-death state so he could be removed from the cross alive, but to anyone present he seemed dead.

All of the plants that had any entertainment conotations, as well as many medicinals were also removed for obvious reasons...having "fun" with nature or being "cured" through natural means was not on most ruler's agendas.

Marijuana is a natural growning plant, herbal, medicinal. It is NOT A DRUG, drugs are man made. It did not exist and was not mentioned in the Bible.

And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more. -- Ezekiel 34:29

What is the Word of God on the Cannabis plant?
The hemp plant (scientific name: cannabis, slang: marijuana) is one of the many useful herbs "yielding seed after its kind" created and blessed by God on the third day of creation, "and God saw that it was good." (Genesis 1:12)

He gave hemp for people to use with our free will.

God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth.…To you it will be for meat." … And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. (Genesis 1:29-31) The Bible predicts some herb's prohibition. "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times, some shall … speak lies in hypocrisy … commanding to abstain from meats which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. (Paul: 1 Timothy 4:1-3)

The Bible speaks of a special plant. "I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more." (Ezekiel 34:29) A healing plant. On either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare 12 manner of fruits, and yielding her fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. (Revelations 22:1-2) A gift from God.

How was cannabis used in Biblical times and lands?
Cannabis was used 12 ways: clothing, paper, cord, sails, fishnet, oil, sealant, incense, food, and in ceremony, relaxation and medicine. For so the Lord said unto me, "I will take my rest and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs. For afore harvest, when the bud is perfect and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks and take away and cut down the branches." (Isaiah 18:4-5)

The bible is by far the best hiding place for your marijuana. Unless you are searched by a religious cop.
