One has heard it said many times, "there is more than one way to skin a cat", but try as one might, one cannot think how to go about it. What ways can one skin a cat? Is one best to kill it first to save being ripped to f*****g shreds on one's hands, arms, head and upper body? Or would it suffice to have the beasts teeth and claws removed beforehand? Is it best to start with the head and work one's way backwards towards the tail, or make the first incision on the underbelly and peel upwards around the legs? What instruments should one use? Will there be a lot of blood? Should one perform the operation indoors or out? And what should one do with the pathetic beast afterwards? Veterinary advice would be splendid. Please help, one is rather perplexed. Thank you in advance.

What a f*cking PIG. You should be rotting in H*ll. Saying the s*it that you say in front of an Animal Control officer would get you arrested and jailed for cruelty. Which is what I hope happens to you.

Cats don't deserve cruelty. You, on the other hand, need to be taught a lesson. Maybe you should be put in a straightjacket and kept there!

How can any of you report him to the authorities for animal abuse? No-one knows even which country he's from! Nor where he is now. And look at his name ... this is simply someone out to rattle as many cages as possible.
To the asker: almost no-one skins cats anymore because it is horrible and inhumane. Even shamisens are made of synthetic material these days. Those that aren't use imported cat and dog skins from China. Where you belong obviously, so go pack now and find out for yourself!
P.S. You can begin by practising on skinning your own toes. Very good research. Did that hurt then? Diddidums.

I just been reading all your answers and I think this surely was just a wind up and you've all fallen for it but it certainly is not my kind of joke. He must be sick or something to use this subject for a joke or maybe he is just one of those type of (???'s) who doesn't know any better.

[Q] From Mike Reilly: “Anything interesting in the origin of There’s more than one way to skin a cat?”

[A] To a lexicographer, all phrases are interesting, it’s just that some of them are more interesting than others ...

There are several versions of this saying, which suggests that there are always several ways to do something. Charles Kingsley used one old British form in Westward Ho! in 1855: “there are more ways of killing a cat than choking it with cream”. Other versions include “there are more ways of killing a dog than hanging him”, “there are more ways of killing a cat than by choking it with butter”, and “there are more ways of killing a dog than choking him with pudding”.

Mark Twain used your version in A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court in 1889: “she was wise, subtle, and knew more than one way to skin a cat”, that is, more than one way to get what she wanted. An earlier appearance is in ’Way down East; or, Portraitures of Yankee Life by Seba Smith of about 1854: “This is a money digging world of ours; and, as it is said, ‘there are more ways than one to skin a cat,’ so are there more ways than one of digging for money”. From the way he writes, the author clearly knew this to be a well-known existing proverbial saying. In fact, it is first recorded in John Ray’s collection of English proverbs as far back as 1678.

Some writers have pointed to its use in the southern states of the US in reference to catfish, often abbreviated to cat, a fish that is indeed usually skinned in preparing it for eating. However, it looks very much from the multiple versions of the saying, their wide distribution and their age, that this is just a local application of the proverb.

The version more than one way to skin a cat seems to have nothing directly to do with the American English term to skin a cat, which is to perform a type of gymnastic exercise, involving passing the feet and legs between the arms while hanging by the hands from a horizontal bar. However, its name may have been suggested by the action of turning an animal’s skin inside out as part of the process of removing it from the body.

Its no wonder you don't supply a photo of yourself you spineless ****. You obviously have no authority what-so-ever over anyone who could fight back and choose to get your kicks thinking about torturing little animals. Hope you suffer a similar fate, PRICK!

'one' has got 'ones' self reported to animal welfare and yahoo so expect to see your account blocked in the future because yahoo takes a very dim view of this sort of activity and may even pass on your details to the law enforcement agencies if they deem an animal to be in dire danger of harmed

and one more thing 'one' is a sick twisted 'one' isn't 'one'

You are an asshole and are being reported for animal torture. I can only hope the same torture happens to you.
