Yes, I passed at level 1 BSL and intend to take level 2. Sign Language differs from place to place and I find it difficult to understand some of the signing in England. But the basics signs such as the ABC are the same everywhere.
When Signing the word Scotland you put your hand underneath your armpit and shake your arm up and down.... Sweaty Scot...Scotland. I bet you never knew that. did you?
Fisted hand outstretched towards the person before you; then... two closed fingers to head; then...two outstretched hands palms facing upwards and make small circular movements with them?
Translated it means???

I took a class on it in HS, but don't remember a lot of it now. If you use it it will stick with you. It's a great language that is fun and easy to learn.

i taught my 2 year old it before she could speak a few words... helped me know what on Earth she was on about! she actually picks up sign language easier than speech and has come up with her own too!

Yes, I work with special education children and use it then. I didn't have any hearing impaired children last year so I need to freshen up a little.
