Try giving them a small amount of calpol (paracetomal drops for children) after seated. They will fall asleep shortly after take-off and it will not do any harm to their health. And you will enjoy the rest of the flight. Just make sure its a SMALL amount. Too much will make them wake up drowsy and you will have problem trying to get them out the plane.

KEEP THEM AWAKE by all means before you get on the plane!!! This way they will sleep on the plane.
Due to current travel restrictions you may be limited to carry on items, so you may not be able to bring toys on board. However, they do show movies on long distance flights, so this might help entertain them. The last transatlantic flight I was on did show a dreamworks animated movie, so that would have been good for little ones.
I would suggest coloring books, as they are allowing books on international flights. Also, check the website of your airline. Northwest has tips on how to fly with little ones. Check it out, that may help. And for little ones like 3 and 2, their favorite stuffed animal for security in a strange environment would help!!
OH, and don't forget to bring a lot of PATIENCE! This won't be easy for them, and losing your patience won't make it any better. So remember to take some deep breaths!!

24 hours before the flight, start trying to wear the kids out. Play lots of active games and try not to let them go to sleep. It might put them to sleep on the plane. Be sure to bring a pillow and a blanket for each of them. If that just won't work, try this. My mom did this for me when I was younger: put together a small tote bag for each of them. Put crayons, paper, a bag of Cheerios, a little bit of candy, and other small things to keep them busy. If they have a favorite toy, bring it along. If you have a laptop that can play DVD's, bring it and get a few "kids movies". I hope this helps. Have a safe flight!

You can bring electronic devices (unless you're flying to the UK), so bring cartoons for the kids (if you have a laptop, bring DVDs). Bring coloring books, and some toys (but not gel or liquid-filled, unless you want to throw them away at security check point). Try getting them on schedule couple of days before that so that they can sleep on the plane.
Also, bring gum, candy (again, not liquid or cream filled)- small kids often cry on planes because their ears hurt, and chewing helps with that.
Pack your patience, and good luck.

put tohether a small bag of the most randomest things. kids are entertained with anything its all in the delivery. pack snacks books, magazines, crayons, maps so they can guess where they are while midflight. hopefully there will be a family friendly movie showing, and eventually they will hopefully fall asleep. also make sure that your not sitting next to some pompous person who cant be bothered with children near them. see if they can go visit the captain maybe get some "wings" good luck to you and have a SAFE trip.

Oh, God.
And, the airlines have taken away most everything that will keep the kids entertained, too!
Well, you have one thing going for you: you're male. Oddly, a man traveling with restless kids is pitied by women, and complete strangers will likely come to your rescue.
For some reason, women traveling with restless kids are scowled at.
I wish you good luck; with little ones who can neither read nor drink alcohol, it's likely to be a long flight.

JK, I found that bringing alot of treats, crayons and coloring books come in handy too. Bring whatever you can to make them feel more comfortable and as for you I suggest the cocktails...you'll need them!

Bring lots of patience. Since electronic devices are not allowed on planes anymore, not much you can bring to entertain them. Good luck.
