I knew somebody who was allergic to vodka...but then again she was allergic to all gluten (or wheat) based stuff. I got her some potato based vodka and she did just fine. Her stomach would become upset and the horrific bowel movents she had! Do yoo have problems with any other foods? It's probably not the vodka, but something the vodka is made with.

So, some thoughts: 1. More and more vodkas are being produced with wheat instead of potatoes, so if you have any wheat allergy issues, that could be the potential problem. 2. There is such a thing as histamine intolerance, and alcohol makes this worse. If you happen to have a low level allergy, the alcohol could be intensifying your reaction to it. 3. YOu might want to get tested for something like Celiac Disease (an auto-immune disease of the gut that is diagnosed via a blood test) or leaky gut. These two conditions can affect how your gut absorbs alcohol, which can result in getting very drunk, or drunk much faster than normal. These conditions can also allow proteins to get into the blood stream before they are digested as they should be, and that can trigger reactions that you would not normally have, like allergic ones (these often go away within a year or more of taking care of the leaky gut). And no - that's not a hangover. I used to get this and it turned out to be 1) celiac disease when it was beer or other wheat based alcohol and 2) sulfite allergy, which is usually involved with wine and beer. Sulfite allergy might be worth checking out as well - if you can tolerate wine, that's a good clue that it's NOT sulfite allergy, since that is the alcohol highest in sulfites.

Strange. If you're allergic to vodka (which is simply ethanol and water), then you should be allergic to any alcoholic beverage. I'd make sure that your "vodka" was good...alcohol can go bad over time.

I am not but I am allergic to dairy products.
Anyone that thinks they are should be checked to see if they are allergic to potatoes or wheat.
If it is the alcohol they are allergic to, that means all alcoholic drinks should be discontinued.
