The best lower end brands are Horizon and Keys units. Spirit also has a couple of lower priced units coming out in Sept-Oct that are very good and will have great warranties. Keep away from anything by Icon Fitness (Proform, Welso, Image, Epic).

I love the Nordic Trac elliptical for home use. It was only about $400 through Speigel and has lasted me forever.
