HELP!! Why isn't my Windows Live Messenger working?

When I try to sign in a window pops up saying
Error Code:80048820
Extended Error Code:80048412 and troubleshooting is not solving the problem.I went in to options and it says that I'm not connected to .NET Messenger Service.
What should I do?

click exit on the icno at the bottom of your screen - and then run it up again -it should work....if not then I think the FBI have caught you up to your shennanigans again!
