widnows vista capable means that when the new os comes out if your too cheap to buy a new comp. you can buy the software and install it in your existing xp computer. and no they arent all capable because the dont all have enough processor power or ram for it and graphics power is going to be big with vista so if you have a system that doesnt have the suffient power then it wont be able to handle the vista load thing change like back then all you needed was like 5-10 gigabytes max and 64 ram because all you did on your computer was ...basically nothing now you watch videos, listen to music, you have flash players, steaming video, advanced graphics, multitasking,...so things have to get more powerfull to handle it, hope this clears some stuff up

The new Windows Vista operating system isn't yet released (it's still in Beta testing) and the hardware requirements are steeper than for earlier versions of Windows.
For example, you could run Windows 98 just fine with only 64MB of memory (RAM). Windows XP really needs 256mb and 512 or a gigabyte is better.
Vista raises the bar even more, since it's loaded with new multimedia and networking features- more features mean you need more RAM and a faster processor to handle the load.
Graphics cards will be seeing a new version of DirectX (version 10) which will only be available in Vista.
So Windows Vista capable means just that- the specs on that system (or particular piece of hardware) mean that it will work under Vista. Plenty of older hardware just won't be able to.

No. Windows Vista cannot be run on some systems that currently have Windows XP installed on it because Vista has some really tough minimum hardware requirements. Seriously, just get a Mac. It makes your life a WHOLE lot easier.
