Yes and no. Windows can be installed on an external drive and it will work. But ONLY if your PC supports booting from an external USB device. Unless your computer is less then two years old, it probably does not.

Go into your computer's BIOS setup. During bootup, usually on the very first screen it will give you a key to press for the set up (F2 on most Dells). Go into the set up and look for a place where you can set the "Boot Order". If there is a listing for USB device, then you can do it. If not, you will have to buy a new PC to do it. Make the USB device the first device in the Boot Order.

Now simply install Windows XP or Server, only after you do the F8 to agree and you are prompted where to install Windows, point it to the USB device.

Be warned that this will add an entry into the boot.ini of your PC so that every time after this that you start the PC, it will prompt you whether you want to start Windows from the internal or the USB drive. You can set it to automatically go to the internal hard drive after a few seconds automatically if you want.

eliminate not user-friendly force C: if its conceivable. Your D force has each and every of the reminiscence, not C. also, problems with abode windows xp setting up might want to be utilising more moderen sata not user-friendly drives. Xp oftentimes would not encounter them without some setting up drivers. also, attempt upgrading to abode windows 7. it truly is lots more moderen and could recognize more moderen hardware hence. If it truly is not an option, yeah. eliminate the 6mb force. Make the 100gb force the purely one contemporary in the time of setting up. in case you do not recognize a thanks to attempt this, you could both do it by ability of the bios, or manually disconnecting them on your computing device.
