This is to all you runners out there, or those who know about running. I started at the beginning of the summer and wasn't able to do 4 mins.. I'm up to about 20, so am improving well. I don't have proper shoes so it makes my legs hurt, and I got every other day to strengthen my muscles. I'm wondering when it would be best to go... when I get up and before breakfast... after dinner...before dinner? ... and for when I get proper shoes, where should I go?

I'd definitely buy yourself a pair of decent shoes. This should be done right away. You are risking ruining your gains because of injury. Seriously, get yourself a decent pair of shoes.

I don't like running in the morning. It is a LOT tougher because your glycogen levels are lower. If you are running just to lose weight / fat, then by all means, do it. But sort of accept the fact that your performance is going to be compromised. When you wake up in the morning, it is sort of like running on fumes... 8oz of gatorade can blunt that affect, but then you sacrifice some fat burning.

I always tell people to run when they best feel like it and when they can. I am usually gunning for performance so I'll run just before lunch or several hours after dinner when I am 100% fueled up.

Again, get decent shoes. I'd hate to see you sidelined from an injury. Also, consider taking an additional day off to let your legs recover (possibly do some cross-training).

Feel free to drop me a line if you have other questions.

Good luck.

expertise - There can be a range a of causes said for Babe Ruth being solid. one million. He did not ought to face any proficient black pitchers 2. there have been no alleviation pitchers, it became the similar old drained pitcher from the first inning 3. No go back and forth lag - he did not go back and forth farther than St. Louis 4. continually day video games - there became no nighttime sport, then day sport, then nighttime sport. 5. the size of the park were significantly smaller - fences were less than three hundred ft from abode plate (particularly a lot a extreme college field) 6. And till 1931 if a ball BOUNCED over the fence it turned right into a house run. it truly is a floor rule double now. EDIT: haha oh and T-funds - Bob Gibson. verify and Mate. And theres also a reason i stated 2,5, & 6 are the major causes. And chipmaker i'm not evaluating him to people of his era. certain he became solid and more beneficial effectual than each and every man or woman else back then, yet i do not imagine he might want to be all that great in this era with more beneficial transformations and more beneficial effectual expertise.

before breakfast is the best time for cario. If you cant make it in the morning then go when you can but dont eat or drink (other then water) 2-3 hours prior.

If you dont have money for shoes and need to save, rather then run in something that make your feet hurt you can always run down the the local thrift store and buy a pair to just get you through. Im not sure where you are, but walmart has tolerable ones for 10.00$.

If you are running for weight/health reasons make sure when you do eat you are getting the proper nutrients you need to function through out the day.

Running before breakfast is great if you want to burn fat, just drink before you start running. Running before dinner is a lot better than running after dinner (when your body's occupied with digesting the food).

Proper shoes is a must unless you want periostitis. IMO, Nike and New Balance make great running shoes, but if you're really serious about your shoes, go to a runner's lab and get shoes that fit your running style. You won't regret it.

when you get up before breakfast.
there are lots of sporting good stores to buy athletic shoes, i would suggest getting a pair of aisics... they cost around $200, but they are worth it, because they will last a lot longer than cheap adidas or nike shoes. and they conform very well to individual foot shapes.
