You actually don't need to obtain any college credits in high school to get into college. At least as far as I know. I went to a private high school and there was never anything about credits. My friends who went to public school in NY say the same thing. They never had to deal with credits. Anyway, the only credits I could possibly think of that could transfer to a college are if you take AP (Advanced Placement) Courses, because they may allow you to skip taking a similiar course in college. Other than that, you really only obtain credits in college. Normally in college you need to obtain a minimum of 60 credits for your degree, this is general and can range from 50 to over 70 credits. Check with your academic counselor at school. You also need to have the correct classes not just the credits.
You can also get a GED as another option.
Make an appointment at you High school so you can be prepared this year.

40.5 here 37 reg credits and 3.5 gym credits .5 a semester

I know that in the UK you need 69, but that is with the new points system.
The interviews are a lot harder than getting the points :-)
