I know cats can see in the dark, but I always feel weird leaving my cat alone in a dark house.

You're right, cats have natural night vision. So, why would you leave the light on? I think your cat would be happier if you saved your light bill, and used the difference to upgrade cat food.

Why would I leave the light on for my cat? They can see better than us in the dark. Besides if I do leave the house at night I always leave one light on anyway. If you feel uncomfortable leaving the cat in complete darkness by all means leave the light on.

If I go out in the evening I do leave lights on. For my cats? I don't think about that. They can see very well without articial light.

I don't like to come home to a dark house. I usually turn on an energy-saving light back in my bedroom even though I am in the front of the house. All lights are turned off when I go to sleep for the night.

I usually leave a light on, but it's more for me than for the cats... I like having a light on when I come home to a dark house.

No, You should not leave the light on for cats when they are alone. You may feel sorry for them, but they have SUPER-NIGHT-SIGHT. They actually sometimessee better in the dark. My cats like to pretned they are forest cats in the dark. Put some toys out for your cat when you are not home too, they won't be lonely as long as they are happy and occupied!

Yes, we have small nightlights spread throughout the house. They help both us and the cats not run into furniture at night. Also, when we're away from the house, we do have various lights on timers. It's just a smart way to help give the illusion we're home when we're not. The cats may appreciate it (or couldn't care less), but it's done for other reasons.

Cats/kittens can see in the dark so you dont need to turn on a light for your cat. If you feel bad for leaving your cat alone, try turning on a radio on low for him/her.

If I'm there then no I don't but if I'm gone yes I'll try to leave a light and even the t.v. or the radio. I figure my cats will feel less lonely if there is at least some noise and some light.

i have a few night lights I put around the house more for me than my cats. Sometimes I leave a small light on if I'm gonna be gone for a long period of time...I also turn on one of our radios just for the noise. Yes, my animals are quite spoiled as well.

We have a couple nightlights in the hallway and bathroom -- so they aren't in the complete dark. Plus the light that comes in from the street lights.

But I have been known to leave a radio on if I'm going to be away longer than usual.
