There are many probabilities.
1. It likes your good nature and love for animals because you have not kill any before and in most likelihood saves some animals in the past.
2. Has someone recently died in the family. If so, it may be the loved one returning to visit you.
3. It is hungry and want you to feel him
4. There must be a bird nest somewhere within your kitchen.
5. And finally, your kitchen smells like bird food.
