great question. It shows the moral inconsistency of so many religions (not just christians). Love thy neighbour, they say, but it seems to be literally the neighbour next door who goes to the same church, not some people who are different-minded, let alone in other countries. There are exceptions: many christians do good things, like adopting disabled orphans etc, but are they doing it because it is their own conscious decision, or because they feel it is a divine Commandment? They do the right thing for the wrong reasons.

Yeah, I get that a lot. It seems people who are supposed to be so-called Christians take delight in telling someone that they're going to burn in hell for an eternity, while they'll be in Heaven. Just because you're a Christian, doesn't guarantee you a ticket to the Kingdom of Heaven. But I always say that if I'm hellbound, I'll save a seat.

Of course, we don't feel glee to think of someone burning in hell. Why do you think we are always witnessing, and trying to get everyone to see the truth? To keep you out of hell ! Perhaps you really offend people with some of your remarks to make them say such a thing. We all have our limits and we are all only human, But I can't imagine a true christian feeling glee over someone going to hell.

It is un-Christian to say such things, because the fact is that on judgment day we are all judged, and we will all stand in front of God to account for our sins.
Since we all have sins, we must all give an accounting...and chances are that it won't be comfortable, since we must stand in front of the one who created us and who is all good and detail for him all that we have done that went against hiim.
I don't take pleasure in people's possibly going to Hell. That said, I don't know who is going to hell. I stay out of God's realm entirely and don't exult or condemn. That is the sin of pride, of thinking that I am aligned with God. And God doesn't like that too much at all, as I understand it.
Those who think they would have a smile on their face as they watched another condemned to Hell have no idea who God is, who they are, who other people are, and what Hell is. Moreover, it is doubtful that they know much of anything about their savior's sacrifice and mercy. They may very well be people who are using a shield of religion to hide the fact that they are scornful, prideful infidels.
It's a case-by-case basis. My stomach turns when I read things like that when Christians wrote them. But my stomach turns when I read a whole lot of blatant hatred and disrespect from non-Christians too.
Basically, dude, our lack of humility is a major problem for God. Christians can lack humility just as much as non-Christians lack humility.
Last, about the "those who disagree with you" thing.... I don't see anyone as disagreeing with me if they choose not to accept Christ's gift of salvation. This is not an intellectual matter--something to agree on or disagree over. It is just a matter of who has accepted the gift, who has yet to, and who has not. No agreement or disagreement necessary.

I have met more than one person who seemed a little too satisfied when they told me I was going to hell for not believing what they believe. It is a little scary that they seems to take so much pleasure in the idea of me being tortured.

The idea of eternal torch er in the flames of hell is definitely un-Christian. On this earth if someone is tortured and beaten, we say it is a crime and horrible, but then we turn around and say that is what God would do. I thought this was a God of Love?
I don't believe that God wants anyone to die, but in the end it is our choice. If you love the things of this world so much, you would never be happy in heaven with out them. Your choice.

There are alot of religions that do that. I love the constant picking on Christians when the world is being terrorized because of religious finatics in the Middle East.

Ezekiel 33:11 - Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, ...
God offers the free gift of eternal life through His Son Jesus Christ, but you must choose to receive it.
Romsna 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

No, i don't take pleasure in it. Why? Because I am an atheist, so i don't believe in this psychopathic idea of eternal punishment. Those who say something like that are really pathetic and deserve nothing but pity for their retarded worldview and ignorance:)

No. I think that is a heinous way to look at things. One should not be overjoyed at the thought of others in misery no matter the situation.
