Personally, I like simple.
Take a Chicken Breast. Begin thawing in warm water.
Start preheat of oven at 325
The breast should be thawed by the time the oven is heated.
Place the breast DIRECTLY on the oven rack in the center. (May want to clean that sucker first)
Bake for about 30-40 min. (depending on the size of the breast.
Flip it. bake for another 10-20 mins.
Place a slice of Medium Cheddar cheese on it while it's still in the oven.
Bake for another 3-5 mins.
Voila.

beef: throw it on a teflon frypan and flip several times until cooked whilst still juicy. serve with the gravy of your choice. the liquid gravy from the supermarket is awesome.
chicken: cooked chicken stored in the fridge tastes unreal with mayo and lettuce on a sandwich. BBQ chicken is the best for this. alternatively you can make a chicken ceasar salad. avoid the anchovies if you don't agree with turds being blatantly placed in a perfectly normal salad.

Brown 1 lb of ground meat with 1 green pepper. After it's browned, add 1 small can of cream of mushroom soup, 3/4 can of milk, salt, pepper and 3 large slices of velveeta cheese. Mix everything together until cheese is melted and add to 1 lb cooked macaroni.

You're not very specific (other than "beef or chicken") about what you're looking for.
This is my weblog... http://www.240brick.blogspot.com/
I have lots of recipes there, and they all have very detailed instructions for preparation.
Enjoy!
