Met a girl at Starbucks, ended up getting her email instead of her phone number because I told her if she gave me her email I can email her the correct website. She sounded happy that I asked and openly gave me it. Im going to email her the correct website but I want to ask her out on a date. I dont know if she has a bf. Should I ask her out over email or should I try to get her number first?

Dude it all depends, how much X-pressive you are with your words, If you make sure to ask her in way so that her feelings are not hurt and there is a smile on her face then after ! - You'll be lucky e-nuf to get her number and the Date for SURE ! I would say no. For email and text because you are hardly breaking the ice. In person or over the phone would be best because then at least you have done it more one-on-one if you get what I mean. I know my ex asked his mate if he should do it over msn and his mate said no cos that's the worst way to do it as his mate had done it before and when they (his mate and the girl he asked out) met, it was awkward.

e-mail just to bullshiit with her, and feel out the situation. If you ask her what she did this weekend and she replies "well me and my man went to the movies', well then you got shot down. But if she replies "i stayed home watching a law & order marathon, she is probably totally single or just has one hell of a cheap man, and you can do better than that, right?

Just test the water, and then go in for the catch if the fish or ready to bite ;)

hum depends. You know where she works right? If you have the oppertunity to ask her in person I think that would be best~! The you can see first hand what her response is and it more then likely will be an honest and upfront reply. Asking her over the net would be the last resort if you cant see her again in person without doing so.

Get her number first, emailing an invitation out for a date seems kinda cowardly. Don't be afraid of rejection.

I personally think you should ask her for her number.... She might be in a relationship and he might read it and get very upset.... ask the normal questions first: are you daiting anyone? What do you like to do? Fav things??? So on and so forth

Well I think that it's fine. Just tell her that you thought she was cute (or something) and that you'd love to have a drink or dinner with her one time. If she has a bf then she'll let you know and then that's it. At least you asked her out.

It's okay but what if she 'forgets' to read her mail. Ask her 4 her number first.

Start simpler. Try mentioning that you'd like to meet her for coffee again in the email.

If she goes for that then after coffee ask her on an actual date.

send her an email and see what happens, besides if she has a bf or refuses your offer it is less humiliating then talking to her on the phone
