I see all too often on here that people in the midst of seeking truth considered deluded in the fact that they don't accept someone else's "truth". I wonder why that is? Are you afraid of what will be found?

For me it is a spiritual search, beginning when I know that I found the pearl of great price that Christ was talking about.....How can you explain that to someone? You can't...It is like describing color to a blind person....And, by being secure in what I know I have found, and not feeling like I need to lead anyone with me, I open myself up to learn from others.

I have learned that it takes humility to allow a person to hear truth from all different sources.....If you have strong opinions, preconceived ideas, or strong religious beliefs, you simply will not hear it.

I don't care who speaks it out, my children, atheist, satanist, pagan....I am finding truth through so many, especially on this forum.

I hear truth coming from people like you, who aren't even a believer in God....The things you are saying are the things that I've discovered through meditation over the past 18 years, so that is how I know what you are saying is the truth.

So, rock on!!!!!

You've tried everything Marquis DeSade did and Caligula did? There are many stones we leave unturned because they don't correspond with the system we've set up already.

Nietzsche is excellent on this try the link below

If I believed 4+4=9 would you believe? People want proof. As for leaving stones unturned that's just one we haven't gotten to yet

People wanna hear what they wanna hear.

We are told this would happen.

2 TIMOTHY 4: 3. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4. And THEY SHALL TURN THEIR EARS AWAY FROM THE TRUTH, and shall be turned unto fables.

you can't, i have looked at many of the Christian beliefs, by this i mean the ones that started from Jesus, I've looked at Buddhism, Hindu, native American, wicin, druid, Aztec, Norris, Greek, Sumerian and the sciences that have tried to explain it all. there are similarities in all of them. it is in these similarities where the truth lies

They're really seeking comfort from the belief culture that they were brainwashed to believe

there is no 'single' truth, especially in nature.
(there may be 'absolute' truths, but no 'single' truth).

a lot of it is observational, and relative.

you may not have seen or heard what I did.
both would be 'true' :-)

so... theres nothing wrong in searching for your own truth, isnt it?

i tend to agree with freethought, though i am willing to listen first... i cannot accept a belief based on "mob rules" there has to be significant backing to what is being supported, not just blind faith.
