The bible is a story book which has been written by man, religion also made by man to brainwash and control the people of the world, however there are parts of the bible that are true, and there is enough proof to say that, there is also enough evidence to say that the bible was not correctly translated form Hebrew.
However before his name was translated to Jesus he was known as Yeshua, there of course no proof that he was the son of God, but he was called the Messiah and performed astonishing deeds, this is historical fact.
But for the church to say that we should believe in the bible when his disciples couldn't get it right, we enjoy Christmas because of the birth of Jesus, no fact this was a Roman holiday, Jesus was born around March.
In Hebrew there is no mention of the Virgin Mary, the correct translation or at least the nearest is Young Woman so yet another mistake.
I believe at the time the bible was being written, if the person writing it could not translate, or could not understand what had happened they made it up, and added bit's to it.
This was also a good time to write things to control man, and to make a profit, i mean show me a poor church today.
So to answer your question you should read the bible and make up your own mind, some of it has the truth in it, but a lot is nothing but the authors words.
You do not need a book to believe in God, nor to have faith in him, but don't expect him to correct all your problems, or to stop all the deaths, and sickness in the world, because he gave us freewill and most of the problems of the world are man made so why should he step in.

Have faith in the Lord

OK. I believe it is the Word of God. I cannot find anything in it that science contradicts (incl evolution which has not been proved scientifically). Jesus is as far as I'm aware the only major religious leader to claim he is God. There is good secular proof from contemporaneous accounts that Jesus walked the Earth about 2000 years ago doing miracles. The moral principles in the Bible are the best I've ever met. It is the only religion in which you can have a personal relationship with God. But at the end of the day it is your choice whether to believe in God (any god) and no one can prove to you the existence or otherwise of God.

It is a matter of personal choice whether to believe the Bible is a literal account of ancient events and people; an account of the beginning of human consciousness or both. There is a great deal of wisdom in the bible that all of western civilisation was built upon, whether in Law, charity, social responsibility or moral responsibility.

To make a judgement on the matter, I would suggest that you read it, and then make a decision as to whether it resonates with you. The Bible encompasses Judaism, which has survived for thousands of years and Christianity which was built upon it for the last two thousand years. It would be remiss of you to dismiss this human faith out of hand. The christian church has a bloody and violent history, but this actually has nothing to do with the contents of the bible. Organised religion is man made, which many reject as it is so divisive. Faith in a higher power can give strength and comfort in life, and pondering these mysteries has given the world knowledge, understanding and wisdom. Even science was born from a curiosity to understand God's universe as the papacy in the far past held to views that intelligent and observant (and profoundly religious) men saw as false. A prime example would be Galileo. For his theories regarding the movement of the planets - that the earth was not the centre of the universe, but in fact revolved eliptically around the sun - he was convicted by the Catholic church of heresy, blasphemy and placed under house arrest for the remainder of his life.
He was only pardoned in 1982.

It takes a wise man to realise that to come to a decision regarding a work that for thousands of years has been regarded as holy writ should involve some personal effort, just in case!

One reason could be, the book of Revelation was written by one of Jesus disciples, his name was John when he was an old man on the Island of Patmos....John was given divine knowledge and insight into the last days on earth before Jesus returns..(.Revelation.)...if you read it you will see what is to come.
John the same disciple gave his account of his time with Jesus and this includes the tribulation which we are now experiencing, and are now in the early stages... "wars and rumours of wars" this was written after Jesus life death and Resurrection, 2000 yrs ago....so how is it possible for someone to write about such things all those years ago and now taking place if there is no Higher Power all knowing and powerful...

It's ok not to believe the Bible is the word of God....He doesn't force people into believing in Him.....
The Bible is alive and active, sharper than a double edge sword and when God's spirit breaths on you then it will all make sense, until then i hope you will keep asking and seeking until you find the answers, because they are to be found....Shalom....

The bible is not the word of God. It is a collection of versions of history according to different people. Some claim to have been there at the time. Others are making up history metaphorically.
i.e. genesis - no one can now believe that the earth formed in 7 days. However, the garden of eden is a metaphor for the evolution of humans. We gain knowledge, and at the same time become disconnected from the cycle of nature.

You should believe it because it is the word of God.
It was of course physically written down my men, but it is inspired by God.

The Bible reveals truth that cannot be otherwise known - for example how the world began and how it will end.

It also gives us the answers to the big questions like 'why we are here?', 'what happens when I die?', etc.

But don't take any man's word for it - check it out for yourself. Countless millions of people have done just that and found the Bible to be the trustworthy, true Word of God.

You can believe the bible if you want to, or you wont because you choose not to. It is our road map through out our lives, and is a free gift from God who inspried it for us, and gave it to us so we can eventually have eternal life with Him.

But if you wish by your own choosing, you can reject it and remain the property of satan and keep him company in hell. The choice is yours. Bur I hope you come to the realization soon, that Jesus is returning in our lifetime. Whether you are ready spirituallly or not. I pray you'll get your self ready before you get left behind with the rest of the non believers.

Just like the fact that "you can lead a horse to water, but you can;t make him drink". well I can lead you to and through the scriptures, but I can;'t make you believe or make you accept Jesus as your savior. That has to be done of the "free will" that God gives all of us and you.

Just remember that what ever you do choose, you are soley responsible for the eternal rewards or the eternal punnishments that you recieve depending on what YOU CHOSE.

God does not require you to believe in him, or the bible. He only requires you to believe in yourself.
Open your heart to the love of God and the love of yourself and you will be given your answer.
Follow your own heart in these matters without fear of retribution.

America will be coming on line soon, so expect a lot of evangelical bible thumpers to tell you that you will be cast into the pit of hell, for daring to question the bible.

Look into your heart; do you really think God would be so spiteful?

God sent you to earth to learn lessons, you learn lessons by asking questions, you have a question, you will search for your own answer, God is happy.

There are lots of lightworkers around like me that are willing to
help you, you only need ask; yet ultimately you must follow your own heart, for we will only guide you, it is for you to take the next step on your spiritual journey.

Love and Light
M

Some of the bible may be the word of God, but most of it is the word of man.

No it's the word of man! God didn't the write the book, did he. Therefore even if god said all those things, it would of been edited to suit that persons views.
