You are an authorized user on your parents accounts. Although the information may show on your credit report, (I am an authorized user on a few of my husbands cards and they show on my credit report) this does not count as credit for you nor will it help you get credit on your own.

No. You don't actually have a credit card. You are an authorized user on your parents account. Everything is going towards your parents credit report. If you're looking to start earning your own good credit, start small... get a store card, buy a few things each month, and then pay it off when the bill comes. You'll be able to establish some credit that way.

The people that r telling you it doesn't count don't know what they are talking about look on here and read about piggy backing or riding on someones shirt tails. It is a common practice for people to help build there credit. If you are an authorized user on someones account it does go on your credit. I am only an authorized used on my husbands card and it is on my credit I never even gave them my SS#.
My mother did it for my younger sister when she was 16 and by the time she was 19 she had a 720 credit score. If you don't believe me read about it seriously on here and in credit books.
By the way my younger sister who is 22 years old just bought a house on her own with her soon to be husband who no co-signer.
:)
P.S. Yes it really does please go on here and read as much as you can I am serious I have very much investigated this

You ask if all of your purchases count on your credit report? No they do not, for any usage or payments are still under your parents credit. The only way for it to count as yours, is to actually have the credit in your name and no one elses, that will raise your credit score each tome you pay it on time and so on and so forth.

You are an "authorized user" of the account. It will not show on your credit reports.
