Jogging... While theoretically walking and jogging burn the same number of calories, jogging burns a bit more in practice, because of the up and down movement. Also, it's better for conditioning your cardiovascular system, because your heart rate is elevated more, your lungs expand more etc... The only negative thing about jogging is the possible knee or leg injuries, due to the constant pounding.

Walking has lower impact on your knees. Jogging provides more of a cardio workout. If you wanna compromise the benefits of both, you can walk with incline (5%-15%); your heart will definitely get a nice workout.
Another nice choice for people who doesn't like the impact of running is the elliptical machine.

yeah it all depends on what your capable of doing, jogging definitely has more benefit, and if you learn to jog right then it's extremely low impact. but your muscles need to be tuned to it or you could do major damage, if you can walk one mile without cramps, soreness, or having to stop, then you can jog 1/4 mile. if not then keep working on it!

Walking, is the best
Jogging causes your back to bother you, gives you heal spurrs and causes your face and neck to appear like silly putty.
