My beagle used to lick the air all the time. Finally, I figured out it was because she had a irritated throat. And that was likely caused by her food, because it wasnt sensitive enough for her and it upset her stomache until she would throw up....and eventually start licking air. You should take ur dog to the vet and have it checked out. No biggy, but would make ur pet more comfortable with antibiotics.

lol, good question. My dog does that to and I think its because she smells something she likes in the air and starts licking hoping she'll get a taste.....then again, my dog really is more likea pig than a dog....

know what i think? I think they do it because some dogs fur covers their eyes, so the dogs might think they are seeing bugs or something in the air so they try to bite it or lick it funny isnt it?
