I don't understand either.
For 2,000 years, Jews have rejected the Christians idea of Jesus as messiah.

Because Christianity began before Mohammed lived. It does not acknowledge any prophets after Jesus. On the other hand, Islam can acknowledge Jesus because, at the time it was being formed, Jesus had already lived.

As a Jew, I get a similar question all the time: "What does Judaism say about Jesus?" and the real answer is "nothing" because Judaism was formed before Jesus lived, and so doesn't have Jesus on the radar screen. Judaism says plenty about the Messiah, and from that Jewish people can say something about Jesus, but the core of the religion doesn't address him because it was developed before he was born.

With respect to the muslims, my religion (INC) does not insult any other religion personally. The argument you posted has a simple answer. The muslims do not ackowledge Jesus just for due respect to Christians. They really do believe in Jesus Christ. But the Christians don't believe in Mahamad. We do respect your belief and we acknowledge your faith. But we do not agree on it. I hope this answers your question.

I hope this will not be misconstrued as bashing Muslims but in order to understand the difference between the two we have to know how both religion was spread throughout the world. Muslims believe that Jesus is only a prophet like Muhammad and Christians believe that He is God who actually came down to earth in the flesh. Jesus preached his teachings by way of forgiveness, compassion, love and the understanding of what faith in God really is while Muhammad spread his teachings with nothing more than by way of the sword. Islam started in Meccah where the Kabbah is found as their most Holy site While Jesus never specified any because He taught and made people understand that the human body is actually the temple of God so that God is alive in every human being. When a religion is spread by way of the sword, can we really say that people really believed or did they just gave in because of fear. Now these people who embraced the faith through the sword bore children and grew up with that belief that was enforced on their ancestors while christians though were born of Christian parents always have the free choice to choose what they want to believe even if their parents disagree. But look at what Islam is doing to apostates who turn their backs from Islam itself, they are being targeted for assasination as claimed by a lot of Muslims who embraced other religions. Anyone can research on this because the internet is full of these information. With these alone how can we compare Islam from Christianity when both religion have different roots though claiming to believe in one true God.

Islam is a religion of fear and terror. Although a lot of Muslims are now beginning to see reality. There are really those who are for peace and there are those who are actually really peaceful and that is a fact. But it is also a fact that there are still those espouse death as solution to problems which actually are not only are exclusive to Muslims but are seen around the world. Just recently a procession of Shiites was straffed by Sunni snipers in Iraq.

With this alone we can see that Jesus taught love and forgiveness while Islam taught strife and death. So how can we reconcile the two? It is even hard to believe that Jesus will come again with the Mahdi that they were claiming because Jesus holds the scrolls while the Mahdi holds the sword. Look at some of their banners, if it is not a sword, it bears as AK47 machinegun. These are not banners of peace, these are banners of unending war. But with what?

One reason could be historic misplacement: Muhammad came about at a time when Christians were into defining all the articles of faith that now seem puzzling.
Another reason could be just plain ignorance.
Another reason: Christianity, like Islam, claims to be the ultimate God's revelation. Hard to accept competitors.
However, pious, learned and articulate Christians (I mean, mind setters not the Pat Robertsons) have no problem with Muhammad as a historic figure and a prophet.

I believe it is because most Christians believe in the divine nature of Jesus Christ, and we believe all true prophets are inspired to testify of the nature and mission of Jesus Christ. If all people everywhere understood the necessity of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I believe that everyone would stop fighting each other and instead work on asking for forgiveness.

I'm not sure. I am a Christian and I find Mohammed interesting. He should be part of our religion, but for some reason, he is not even in the Bible. The descision to accept him should have come a long time ago. I don't hate Muslims, but now it would be hard for Christians to accept Mohammed as part of our religion because of the radical Islamic terrorists. I personally think he should be accepted though.

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Muslims dont consider Jesus the son of God like Christians do...and the fact that Mohammed established another religion separate from Christianity...

Then again I am not the Church fathers who formed the basic Christian doctrine centuries ago now am I...
