I saw "Mr Nerdlinger" imply that Christianity only makes sense to someone if they have a low IQ. Here's a list of famous Christian scientists.

How low do you think their I.Q.s were?

Peace!

First of all, your question implies that spirituality and Christianity are synonymous. They're not.

Many people are spiritual without being Christians, and many Christians aren't very spiritual. (many are, please don't misunderstand me)

I think that the more intelligent a person is, the more apt to be spiritual they are. Intelligent people amend their views when faced with contradictory evidence. God's existence, to me, can be seen everywhere; the ribosomes of a cell, evolution, chocolate cake.

I think spirituality and intelligence are likely unrelated.

However there have been very many great Christian scientists. In fact the ones below were Creationists.

Physics: Newton, Faraday, Maxwell, Kelvin
Chemistry: Boyle, Dalton, Ramsay
Biology: Ray, Linnaeus, Mendel, Pasteur, Virchow, Agassiz
Geology: Steno, Woodward, Brewster, Buckland, Cuvier
Astronomy: Copernicus, Galileo, Kepler, Herschel, Maunder
Mathematics: Pascal, Leibnitz

No. Not true. In fact, I'd say the inverse is true. At least Christians have considered the most important issue in life - the existence of God; most western people haven't which is a tragedy.

Being a Christian doesn't have anything to do with IQ, whether that be low OR high. Anyone who thinks otherwise maybe needs to question their OWN intelligence, not that of others.

Many smart people have self belief in a faith with a god or gods or different supernatural beings. Even scientists will compartmentalize their religious ideals, no longer subjecting them to the same doubts and questions -- "How do all of us comprehend that?" "What ought to coach that this is fake?" -- they follow to different areas of the international. Religions developed with a view to hunt for solutions, to fulfill specific undemanding human desires, and to enable our entire brains, no longer satisfied with precis words, turn to and consult from an embodiment of each little thing this is good and top. quite some smart each physique is religious humanists, who settle for religious ritual on the same time as insisting that gods are human innovations. Many different smart each physique is secular humanists, who have self belief in residing a good, finished, ethical, and exuberant existence without turning to gods in any respect. (we would desire to continuously ask, does "faith" might desire to contain the unprovable and supernatural? Liberals from some religious traditions enable for reinterpreting "God" as an convey personification, quite than a "Mr. Universe in the heavens with a white beard" with an autonomous existence.)

There are many types of intelligence; to which are you referring?
I am a spiritual person, yet follow no religion.
I was born a christian, yet am now a Pagan.
I am a human being, yet now know I am so much more.

I am emotionally intelligent enough to follow my own heart on these matters without fear of "burning in hell" as so many "good Christians" wish on me.

If we look at history and at the world we live in, it seems as if the more "spiritual" people of ALL the major religions are also the most violent.

firstly i would like to appreciate petal 62 and tinkicker0 for their answers. now let us understand that being spiritual and being religious are two totally diffrent things. for being religious you do not need religion, and seldom will you find intelligent pple religious.. but it is necessary to be intelligent to be spiritual, cos irrespective of religion, and other ppls opinions, to be spiritual is to follow a path only after your logic and wits have approved it and not because you have blind faith and re taught to blindly follow the words of religious head.

religion seperates pple, it is sectarian, while spirituality is universal, it unifies pple

actually, Albert Einstein was a very spiritual person. .He was born a Jew, and although did not necessarily practice his religion, nevertheless it impacted upon him, "The highest principles for our aspirations and judgments are given to us in the Jewish-Christian religious tradition."
I rest my case.
