Where your fat distributes is genetic, but the amount you have may be something you can control.
Many people don't know that there are many genetic/hormonal conditions which make it very difficult to lose weight. Did the doctor tell you if you have some condition? For example, some people have a problem with an increased amount of Cortisol (which can also be caused by stress), and this can aid in weight gain. It shows as excessive fat abdominal area, an unhealthy distribution that increases the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes. - http://tinyurl.com/hyldn Cortisol in excessive amounts is Cushing's Syndrome. - http://tinyurl.com/mdhsr
There are other conditions like Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, in which 50% of women are overweight, and it is often very tough to lose this weight. http://tinyurl.com/gn89j
Please check with your doctor (and perhaps get a second opinion). Liposuction is not a weight loss measure. It is used to target specific areas to sculpt the body. A good doctor would only suggest this as a means to target a specific area for a small-moderate amount of fat removal.
Also, how tall are you? 150 pounds is a healthy weight if you are about 5'6" or taller. Check your Body mass Index. http://tinyurl.com/nmvyu

Your doctor has something to do with a lipo outfit. I can guarantee you that because what he told you is total nonsense. See another doctor, a dietitian or an advanced practice nurse. A combination of diet and exercise will result in a healthy body for anyone. People who say different are trying for your money.

You need to go on a low caloric, smaller portion diet for life. Lipo is not the answer. You are still very young so your skin has not been stretched that much. If you lose the weight now you won't have to deal with ugly stretch marks that will scar you for life.

There is no substitute for diet and exercise, lypo can kill you so don't even think about it! Create a fitness routine for yourself, start by walking everyday for 30 minutes. Increase the distance you walk as your body tells you to. Also, watch what you eat, there are lots of foods out there that are very tasty and good for you! Buy a healthy food cookbook or look it up on the web to get some ideas as to what you like. Create a meal plan that you can stick to. I would eat 5 small healthy meals a day to raise your metabolism so you burn fat. Be sure to drink lots of water, this alone will raise your metabolic rate so you burn more fat. So, eat healthy, exercise, and stay true to yourself with your quest to become a healthy person and you will do it!

Lipo as a solution is dumb. If your doctor is correct and your problem is genetic, you will just gain it back. Permanent weightloss from lipo is a myth, but one that the people who make money doing lipo benefit from.
Just keep eating sensibly and excercising, and learn to be happy with who you are.
And get a new doctor.

Try not eating meat or any thing sugary. Then make sure to at least walk as much as possible. I lost 75 pounds doing this. But I stuck with it until all weight was lost. Don't take the easy way out. That doctor just wants your money. Good luck!!!!

Hi
Try this plan instead so here goes,
If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx
Good luck

Did the Dr. even mention that muscle weighs more than fat?? The whole "genetic" thing is b.s. - while there may be a predisposition, you CAN lose the weight if you work at it. See a nutritionist for diet advice. Also, a qualified Naturopathic Dr. can be MOST helpful.
