I am a hopeless klutz in the kitchen. Don't have a clue. But I really love this posh boy and I want to make his parents like me when I cook for them. Any ideas?

Spaghetti or lasagna, salad, garlic bread, and nice desert, like cheesecake.
If lasagna, buy box of Barilla lasagne no boiling required. (In pasta lane). Directions on back of box. Just buy everything it tells you to, and follow directions. It's pretty simple, and very tasty!!
For garlic bread, you can either buy it already frozen and bake it, or you can buy a loaf of french bread, cut it, butter it and sprinkle with garlic powder, then toast it in the oven.
Cheesecake, easy and delicious recipe, buy a graham cracker crust, 1 can sweetened condensed milk (both in baking aisle), 1 package cream cheese, and lemon juice. Let cream cheese get a little soft (let it sit in room temp about 30 minutes), then mix it with sweetened condensed milk with mixer. AFter mixing, add 1/3 cup of lemon juice (important that this is added only after first two ingredients are mixed). When all mixed together, pour into graham cracker pie crust, put on lid, and let chill in fridge. The longer the chill, the better, so made the night before they come would be great. You can add a can of fruit to the top if you wish, which will also be found in baking aisle.
Hope your dinner goes well!! Just remember to relax, his mother understands what it was like to learn to cook!

Need more information. Are they vegetarians. I don't know if you have a grill or what kind of kitchen you have. In your situation, I'd take the easy way out and buy a rotisserie chicken, frozen creamed spinach, a salad mix or two and a couple of premixed salad dressings, frozen garlic bread or a baguette (you'll need butter), cheese and crackers for an appetizer, black olives, little carrots and ranch dressing, and sherbet for dessert. Make some coffee, but you'll need half-and-half and sugar or splenda, sodas or iced tea and sherbet for dessert. Or you could buy a frozen lasagna and serve it instead of the chicken and creamed spinach. Good luck. Call your Mom or cook something that your Mom made that you really like.

it is more how you present the dining table than what food you serve. A nice clean tablecloth, proper cloth napkins, not paper serviettes. A glass for wine and another for water. A jug of water on the table. None of the extras in it's shop wrapping, butter in a dish, mustard in a pot not in the jar. Pepper grinder not shaker.

Don't put the bottle of wine on the table, leave it on the sideboard and get b/f (not you) to serve it as required.

Keep the kitchen clean and tidy. She WILL come and take a look, I promise!

You can't go wrong with Roast Chicken. All you have to do is switch on the oven, throw it in & the oven does the rest.
Best thing to do is not worry about it. If something does go wrong you can always ask his Mum for some help. It might even work well as an ice-breaker.

Get a caterer in to do the cooking, that way you're not frazzled when they come round and everything is perfect. Or check out www.epicuriuos.com, they have some lovely very easy & detailed recipes with step to step videos.

If you have a crock pot, use it. All you have to do is throw a chunk of meat with some veggies in it, turn it on and walk away. It's so simple.
