It would seem to be around 116, which is about the 85th percentile, which roughly correlates to the percentage of the population who are Christian. Of course, there is some overlap... and exceptions. There are (inexplicably) some very intelligent people who are believers. It would be my guess that around 116 would be the point where some really important critical thinking skills kick in... and where the nature of 'belief' changes.

One thing that I have noticed is that most Christians lack the ability to make subtle qualitative distinctions in nuance of meaning. For example, they would deem that in the sentences "I have faith that this chair will not collapse when I sit in it," and "I have faith that Almighty God exists," the word 'faith' means exactly the same thing, and has no qualitative nuances associated with it. Fundamentalist preachers, it seems, are aware of this cognitive limitation, because they often use that 'chair' example to explain what 'faith' in god means. Well... maybe they are aware of it; but, then again, I might be giving them too much credit. It could also be that the shepherds are just as dumb as the flock.

Statistically atheists are extra knowledgeable, (extra preparation and/or severe IQ) yet you should bear in mind that IQ tests are nationally bias and numerically bias (math questions). Statistically ninety 3% of yankee Scientists are Atheists. obviously there'll be Atheists with low intelligence and Christians with severe intelligence. And there are 5 situations extra religious human beings than non-religious human beings contained in the international... would that not sway the outcomes? EDIT: Your IQ is 100 and sixty? You understand that IQ tests are unreliable after the 100 and fifty mark, then you truthfully ought to take the Mensa try. which does not grant you with an precise studying both because the outcomes flow up in 10's

the answer is that it never makes sense. However, that doesn't stop intelligent people from believing. Einstein thought that "God doesn't play dice", and Von Neumann, arguably the smartest man from the 20 century, turned to Catholicism on his deathbed. So very smart people can believe, but you'll find that the lower the IQ, the more readily people accept stories for truth that belong on the shelf with Batman and the Incredible Hulk.

While I generally try to defend Christianity as a simple mistake rather than a mental illness or deficit, I have to admit that you've got a point here. Many Christians clearly believe that their arguments are sensible defenses of their religious beliefs, despite some obvious and in fact laughable flaws (bad reasoning, lack of evidence, etc.). It's hard to imagine how an intelligent person could think about it at all and not see that it is not sensible.

Well, to lower your iq, you could read the bible. Thats a start, unless you read it, and realize that it is just a book that tony robbins would have wrote had he been alive back than. It is a tool to control the masses.

About 168, but that is just me. You see, IQ has nothing at all to do with believing the Bible. But holding yourself in high esteem sure seems to be the norm in not believing it.

The IQ isn't the important part it's the ability to be irrational that's the key.

The question should be how low does your IQ have to be before you no longer believe in God and believe in everything against Him. Or How low can you go? Those that do not understand have to mock why not either try to learn or forget about it. Why do you insist on making fun of God and all His love and compassion for mankind? I think your IQ has dropped plenty low enough now maybe you can start learning.

It is not always a matter of IQ..
There are educated intelligent Christians...
It is a matter of common sense, self confidence and a number
of other factors...
Low IQ & ignorance help but you can't equate low IQ with
belief in God or Christianity..

It has to be somewhere down around redneck level - even below George Bush's which is something like 96. Just look at all the good old boys and girls in the trailer parks who are bible-thumpin' christian believers with names like Jim Bob, Billy Bob and Joe Bob - even Bob Bob. These people aren't the brightest bulb in the package.
