If this is a young girl, I'd question if she's ever been abused. I've seen this in preschool and the doc and social worker definitely questioned sexual abuse of the child. Of course if you were coming home from work and she was there, I'd assume she was old enough to be home alone.
If it was a teen or preteen, same thing but also may be experimenting. Still pretty surprising to find. Try to be understanding. If old enough ask her if she has questions. Try not to embarass her.

I'll have to say, its not usually normal, it really depends on your daughters age. If she's very young it is a sign of being molested or hurt. Or maybe she even caught you or someone else in the act. If she is older than its masturbation, sexual pleasures, at least she ain't running around having sex with other guys or girls, she's at home playing it safe. But maybe you should ask her about it, but don't embarrass her, I mean its already embarrassing to know that you caught her...if she knows you caught her. Just stay calm what ever you say or do. But Let's hope its either a phase. I know that when we were younger I've caught my cousin doing dirty things with her dolls or even her stuffed animals. But I know that she was molested. If she was do something about it, because that can damage your daughter for life.

look its just good for you and her a pillow cant make her pregnant if you hear her doing anything just leave her alone to have fun it is a way to masturbate alot of people do it at least she is not humping a guy because that could get her into trouble.dont worry and no need to talk to a doctor it perfetly normal

If she is like 20 years old then I would say yes it is abnormal, other wise then no....

I would be willing to venture that your perception of the event was conflicted by your own sexuality, or need to feel sexy. Perhaps you should think more about parenting and less about sex. Having your daughter checked to see if she has a yeast, urinary infection, or rash might be a good idea also, but again- that falls under PARENTING...Also...children tend to mimic what they see others doing...
