First, I am not saying 'all Mexicans' are like this. I am saying border towns on both sides are particularly unsafe in part because bad guys can dash across the border. This guy was arrested for personal participation in 10 -15 murders on this side of the border, and is potentially linked to a gang that commited 300 rape/murders in Mexico and here.

I think we need secure borders and protection of people on BOTH sides of the border.

Kenneth, we can only do what we can do, but in areas where the cities on the Mexican side come right up against the cities on the US side, it is far too easy to hop a fence and get lost in the interior. That is where the double security fencing with an interior road for Border Patrol and cameras comes into play.

Pancha, I'd be ok for right now with a bill that gave us true border security, started the employer database creation (it will take years) and restricted deportations during a 'discussion period' to only those convicted of crimes, in jail, or who have outstanding deportation orders they have ducked (i.e. if they are in the process of appealing it, it is not 'ducking' the order.)

However, I would want to require that all illegal immigrants convicted of crimes be deported after serving their sentences. Per Homeland Security that would be 302,000 more this year than last year, and would measurably increase the quality of life in Los Angeles. People also might not be so mad about the issue once the bad apples are dramatically reduced in number.

However, I don't know if we'll see anything, this year.

You're absolutely right, well said! My wife is directly related to the younger gang that rode with Jesse, and we both think they were murdering trash. Too bad the Mexican Army wasn't''t waiting for them to ride into Mexico! Would have saved some lives. This definitely should be addressed by both sides, but we know Mexico's whole and Americas big biz is profiting off of the illegals and should be considered slavery in some cases! No one wants to recognize the rebel flag because they think slavery was the cause of war for the south so they consider it prejudice! I think the people exploiting illegals are the ones to be labeled prejudice

In principal yes but the border is too long and open and with too many people coming and going across for total security.

It is time for action, things are getting out of hand. anyone who wants can come across the southern border and wreak whatever havoc they are inclined to and face no repercussions. This is wrong and needs to be stopped.

Another good point, outlaws from the US seeking refuge from prosecution for their crimes in Mexico...nowhere to run, nowhere to hide=big disincentive to being a screwup...
