Since its acidic nature slows down bacteria growth, I'm guessing that if it is covered and not contaminated, it's unlikely it will go bad. That's why vinegar is used to preserve things like pickles, etc.

My parents make vinegar at the same time they make homemade wine...as far as I know it keeps for a very long time...maybe years even...but not sure. Usually we use it all up within the year and make a new batch every Fall. :~)

it can sour i do believe... but gernally it doesnt become toxic. you should be able to smell it and tell if its still good.
