You won't get an accurate medical evaluation here. If you don't care for your vet's assessment, seek another opinion from someone more qualified than the folks here.

Before, you put the dog down, please get a second opinion from another vet.

There are so many things that could be wrong with your dog, that it's impossible to tell you what treatments might work. A second opinion from another vet might be the best way to go.

Even though your dog may be eating and drinking, there might be some kind of medical problem that is impossible to fix. Sometimes the kindest thing we can do for our animal companions is to put them out of their misery when we know nothing can be done.
Hope this helps!

Without knowing what your vet has already prescribed, that would be hard to answer. Have you tried prednisone? If your vet hasn't already prescribed this to your dog then you might ask. It is a steriodal medication and sometimes its effects are long-lasting and sometimes not. It all depends on what is the root cause of your dogs breathing problems. Does your dog have asthma? Is your dog exposed to second hand smoke? These are some problems that are common with dogs and if your dog has breathing problems and is around smoke then that can cause the problem to worsen. If nothing that your vet tries is helping and your dog is in advanced aging process then it may be a good idea to put him down. Good Luck and God Bless!

Take your dog to a different vet.

None of us can hear your dog breathe, or know anything about what medication you are using. We only know that after 2 weeks you are not happy with the result.

It is o.k. to seek a second opinion.
