If there is a God - Of course he created evil - he wanted us to have fun / challenges / free will. Its pretty tough to have free will if you can only choose one path. Plus really, how can you really know good if you've never tasted evil. I love spiritual debate - asking questions that really can only be speculated upon - why not instead: go have some fun, spend what little precious time you have on this earth exploring every aspect of life

Same old WRONG question!!! God didn't create evil. God created beings with free will. Why did he do this instead of just creating robots that automatically followed his will????
THAT is the real question. Answer: because you can't love a robot and even more importantly, a robot can't choose to love you back. You see, real relationship always involves risk. There is always the risk with free will that a person can choose to love you or hate you. To embrace you or reject you.
Take my wife for example: she married me of her own free will. Even up to the last moment there was the chance she might not have walked down the aisle. I wouldn't have it any other way. Because unless she can daily choose to stay with me then it's not true love.
God wants the same from us, to choose him of our own free will. He gave us free will and we then as individuals choose evil from time to time. That is why Evil is in this world, NOT because God created it. As long as God was the only one making decisions, Evil was only ever an abstract possibility not a reality. It only became a reality when he created beings to love that also had the power to choose wrong choices.

This world is perfect?
A 1-month-old baby boy was found dead in a microwave in his parents' New Kent County home early yesterday morning. New Kent, Va. sept 24, 1999
If God doesnt punish evil then he is surely not a just God. But be careful not to falsely assume that God created evil and wants half of us to be evil and the other half good.
The truth is God indirectly created evil because evil is everything HE is not. God allows us to choose everyday if we're going to be good or evil. (like him or not like him)

God didn't create evil. It came about from beings not wanting to be submissive to God.
Oh, and look around. The world is NOT perfect.

The world is far from perfect, but it's not impossible that we'll all end up in the same place in the end. God didn't create evil, but He did give us free-will - it is up to us to make the right choices in this life.

God did not create evil. Satan created evil.
End up in the same place? If someone as uninformed and delusional as you is gonna be there, count me out.

dude, wake up and smell the coffee. There's cancer, war, paranoia that if you masturbate, God will see you and punish you. God didn't invent the devil, humans did, just like they invented god. I will always respect you for believing in god. I hope you can respect me too for believing that there isn't one. Take the holocaust for example. Either god didn't prevent it because he was unable to, or he didn't want to (much more disturbing). I believe that god didn't intervene, just like Batman didn't intervene: because he doesn't exist.
