In East Retford Parish Church Register a John Littlewood has children baptised from 1737. Sadly, most of them died within days of birth. John is not mentioned as one of John's children. There are no other Littlewoods mentioned. I can find no record of birth or death for either John Littlewood in Retford parish registers.

This sounds a likely candidate for a 1773 marriage.
The IGI gives John Littlewood's marriage to Ann Moss as taking place in West Retford, now a suburb of (East) Retford.
They had a child, John Littlewood; Christening 1st Feb 1777 East Retford.
By the way I am a Worksopian. Worksop (Saxon 'werkes hop' = werke's valley) is about seven miles from Retford.
