This puppy is doing this because she's being dominant. You have to get control of this puppy and make her realize that all humans in her house are the pack leader, not her. Does she get enough exercise? Mental stimulation? Labs are very active and she should be getting walked for about 1 1/2 hours a day, as well as playing fetch or frisbee or something. Do a little obedicence with her to occupy her mind - at home only, she's too young for classes.
When she humps something tell her no firmly and praise a lot for good behaviour. I think you'll find that if she's got enough to occupy her, she'll quit.

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do to stop it. However, you can limit the things that she is humping by offering her a stuffed animal and only allowing the behavior with that one toy. Then, when it is not the desireable time for her to act out her hormonal frustrations, you can simply put the toy away until a better time. When she tries to hump something other than that toy, sway her back to the toy - soon she will get the idea. You can teach her when it isn't okay and when it is by using a reward system. Good Luck - know that this is normal behavior and there isn't alot you can do about it.

This behavior is a problem. I would keep a rolled up newspaper (Loosely rolled) Near by. and everytime it trys pop the paper on its hind quarter. If the paper is loose. the sound will get its attention. The hit will not hurt just scare as the sound of it too will scare. Try that.
Now if that dont work...get a spary bottle squirt him in the face.
You say hes a lab.... Well if hes a pup..run out his energy. Put him ina fenced yard and throw ball and have him fetch. This will be good training for him to learn to drop toys as a comand too.
But run his ***....exercise him. he will calm down...
If he dont put a warning lable on him...."I will hump you for no apparent reason"
good luck

In doggie language, mounting is assuming dominace over someone. This should be stopped ASAP, because all dogs should never assume dominace over any family member. The best way to stop this is to assume your dominace over her (that doesn't mean to mount her, though some people have said that it the best way) it means to roll her on her back and make her stay still with a firm "stay" or "no" command, you inisiate direct eye contact with her. She doesn't have to look at you back, just stay still. Once she settles down, let her up and praise her. Another way to stop this mounting behaivor, it to occupy her mind with other things, more fetch, obiedence training, hide and go sniff games, etc. This helps keep her mind fresh. Good Luck

My husband's dog humped her blanket, bed, pillows until we had to put her down (due to illness). She was almost 12.
Don't worry about it. S/He isn't going to harm anything.
